Wikipedia Takes 2012 is a planned photo hunt and free content photography contest, aimed at illustrating Wikipedia articles related to Chicago. It is part of Wikipedia Takes America and Wiki Loves Monuments in the US in September 2012. We hope to have some submissions for Wiki Loves Monuments 2012.

Scoring:

  1. Limit: 1 scoring image per article.
  2. The following multipliers apply to all images
    1. Main image 2x (if in an infobox), 1.5x (if the first image but not in an infobox)
    2. featured pictures 2x (main and FP are somewhat redundant so if both the total multiplier is 3x).
    3. Images that replace pre-existing images .5x
    4. Images for articles that are WP:FA and WP:FL on 9/29: 1.5x (if promoted within two weeks 1.3x)
    5. Images for articles that are WP:GA on 9/29: 1.25x (if promoted within two weeks 1.1x)
    6. Wikipedia:Vital articles Level 3: 2x, Level 4: 1.5x.
    7. Article with no previous images: 1.5x
  3. You must show up at the Starbucks in the Marshall Fields Building foodcourt (not the one on the first floor) between 12 and 12:30 to be eligible to participate.
  4. You may use pictures taken on the 29th at any time of the day. (this is so that pictures that need to be taken while the sun is to the east are eligible. You can take them before showing up at noon.)
  5. Images score with multipliers of .75x, .5x and .25x in 2nd, 3rd and 4th articles.
  6. In general, picture dates and time will be based on digital camera Exif metadata. Make sure your camera's date and time have been set correctly.
  7. The majority of one's points must be from between noon and 7PM on the 29th.
  8. Final scores determined on October 31st.--TonyTheTiger (T/C/BIO/WP:CHICAGO/WP:FOUR) 03:20, 11 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

since I don't consider myself a contestant, it is as if only two people entered this contest. I am having trouble convincing myself that we have a legitimate contest with only two entrants. I created Wikipedia:Wikipedia Takes America/Chicago/Photo contest a couple months ago and have been unable to convince myself that it would be meaningful to calculate a winner with only two contestants. If you think I should let me know.--TonyTheTiger (T/C/BIO/WP:CHICAGO/WP:FOUR) 07:51, 7 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
