Wikipedia:Wikipedia Takes the Australian War Memorial
Wikipedia Takes the Australian War Memorial is an opportunity for Wikipedian and Commons photographers to take pictures at the Australian War Memorial of some of the exhibits before a revamp in preparation of new ANZAC-related exhibits. The focus will be on taking pictures of exhibits, not specific items in the collection, so copyright should be less of an issue. Photographers are able to release their pictures CC-BY.

Details
edit- Date: 25 August 2012
- Time: 9:45 AM start
- Location: Terrace Café outside the Australian War Memorial
- Out of towners: If you are coming from out of town and need a place to stay, please comment on the talk page so people can find shared accommodation to make costs cheaper. If you can rent a car, it is advisable as weekend bus routes in Canberra are often every half hour to hour and cheap accommodation is not always in central locations on the bus network. The AWM is about a 30 minute walk from Civic.
- A map of the grounds of the AWM showing the location of the Terrace Café and parking is available here. The underground parking lot accessible from the eastbound lane of Fairbairn Avenue or via Treloar Crescent is particularly convenient, and bus stops serviced by route 931 are located on Limestone Avenue and Fairbairn Avenue.
