Wikipedia talk:2008 main page redesign proposal/5theye
Really rough for now; I sort of threw this together quickly without really reading most of the discussion. = ∫tc 5th Eye 22:34, 7 July 2008 (UTC)
Terrible.
editSorry. The full-length featured article is an awful idea. The search box... oh must everything be Google?Yeago (talk) 01:34, 8 July 2008 (UTC)
- I jacked that from another user's page, and thought later to get rid of it, which I haven't done yet. = ∫tc 5th Eye 05:07, 8 July 2008 (UTC)
I don't recommend the "show/hide" buttons; they are not accessibility-friendly. The main page should work in any platform and browser. Gary King (talk) 01:40, 8 July 2008 (UTC)
- Figures. They're a pain anyway. = ∫tc 5th Eye 05:07, 8 July 2008 (UTC)
News
editI think the news should be beside the article of the day. The only two things I usually look at are the featured article and the news. I would dare say that many others think these are the most important items as well because they have been at the top of the main page for so long. And, as per above, scrap the Google! --Andrew from NC (talk) 21:31, 8 July 2008 (UTC)
- I wasn't even aware my page used Google for anything. Oh well; I got rid of the box anyway (since it is redundant). = ∫tc 5th Eye 02:21, 9 July 2008 (UTC)
