Mistaken idea

edit

The difference between data "hoarding" and data presentation is merely a matter of organization. A hundred cats can be a terrible mess in a small, cluttered apartment, but when tastefully arranged in a few local pet stores they should sell like hot cakes.

The infoboxes issue is a real issue, but it is not a data hoarding issue; it is an issue of repetition and improper placement of off-topic information. I would support a simple numerical limit of no more than 50 articles linked to/by an infobox. Wnt (talk) 03:15, 13 March 2013 (UTC)Reply

My thoughts

The analogy offered is basically nonsense. The problem here has nothing to do with the amount of information. The problem is a perception that certain types of information are not appropriate (hence we have WP:NOT). Information is generally excluded on a qualitative rather than quantitative basis.
