Support

  • Optim: Helps us to keep vfd usable for dialup users; prevents the spamming of vfd with unreasonable entries; cvfd can be used as a pool for choosing articles for inclusion in vfd.

Oppose

edit
  • —Eloquence - use Wikipedia:Cleanup instead
  • Perl - I don't like this idea. I think it will be too much trouble.
  • Fuzheado - As Eloquence said, Cleanup seems to work fine now. (And I don't think it's stupid)
  • Oppose vehemently. VfD is fine the way it is now. How long do things stay on this proposed page before they go to VfD, and how long do they stay on VfD before they get deleted? It's just a way for inclusionsists to make an end run around what is working just fine now. RickK 03:22, 2 Mar 2004 (UTC)
"Pages included here will remain until someone decides to list them on vfd or a consensus not to vfd the page is developed."
  • Gandalf61 - can't see the point of having a pre-VfD page - adds complication with no clear benefit.
  • Angela. This is exactly what cleanup is for.
  • Kaihsu 20:01, 2004 Mar 2 (UTC): Are we going into candidates for candidates for vfd, and so on?
  • moink I was going to make the same comment as Kaihsu.

Discussion

edit
  • Some people think cvfd is like Cleanup. I don't see any relevance to Cleanup. They are very different. A page which needs cleanup should be listed on Wikipedia:Cleanup. If nobody can fix it, it should be listed on Wikipedia:cvfd. The cvfd listing may encourage some people to fix the page. If after the cfvd listing the page is not fixed, it goes to Wikipedia:vfd. cvfd is an intermediate layer between Cleanup and vfd. Cleanup and cvfd do not overlap, they are just very different. • Some people asked how much the articles will stay on cvfd before moved to vfd. Currently there are no rules. The only rule is that no article should be listed both in cvfd and vfd. Optim 07:49, 2 Mar 2004 (UTC)
