- User:Giantflightlessbirds to upload his talks / content somewhere and add the links to the page.
Finalise program at http://www.ndf.org.nz/pre-conference-workshops/- Every organiser (and all existing wikipedia editors who should come out of the woodwork) to read Wikipedia:How to run an edit-a-thon
- User:Giantflightlessbirds and User:Stuartyeates to apply for Wikipedia:Account creator userright four weeks prior to the event. This is needed in case wikipedia detects our editing (specifically the mass creation of new accounts from the subnet the wifi is on) as a SPAM attempt and throttles us.

Decide whether we want a Wikipedia:Geonotice broadcast to all NZ wikipedians. Below are some candidate texts, feel free to tweak them.On Monday 24 November 2014 the National Digital Forum is hosting a full-day event, 'Wikipedia and the GLAMS: a discussion and editing workshop' at Te Papa Tongarewa. Contingency planning
editThere is a small but very real possibly that we will be struck by catastrophic internet outage on the day. We can mitigate the effects of this kind of event by:
- Ensuring that all presentations are bought along on paper and USB as well as cloud-based storage
- Participants thinking in advance about issues to raise if much more of the day is in a panel format. Suggestions:
- What different quality metrics are we looking for in an encyclopaedia? How do Wikipedia, Britannica and Te Ara measure up?
- How does authority control work on Wikipedia?
- What do the practicalities of a large-scale article creation (as was done for importing articles from Te Ara) look like?
- Do we need wikipedia in Māori? How might we go about making that happen?
- Do we need a Wikimedia New Zealand (a legal entity)?
- How does the coverage of species work?
