Wikipedia talk:Images linking to articles

How about getting the imagemap syntax correct and including the default target?

<erm> I take that back

Lets say you wanted a string of images all linking to the same page, but, you want the images to appear horizontal, not vertical, what would you do? 58.209.227.56 (talk) 14:57, 10 June 2010 (UTC)Reply

I would probably use {{Multiple image}}, which if given |direction=horizontal, will allow up to five images to be placed in a horizontal row. --Redrose64 (talk) 17:26, 10 June 2010 (UTC)Reply

Thumb does seem to work - was this changed recently?

[[File:example.jpg|thumb|link=Main page|this caption]]

The docs say that "|link=" doesn't work if it's part of a "|thumb".

"...it can only be used with plain pictures; it cannot be used with thumb images...."

But the example I've added in this thread, disproves that statement.

Was something changed recently? Or are there cases where it doesn't work?

Also, is there an existing, or an easy way to obtain a, list of all instances where this "|link=" syntax is used?

Thanks. –Quiddity (talk) 18:45, 23 June 2014 (UTC)Reply

This page doesn't have many watchers. Have you tried WP:VPT? --Redrose64 (talk) 19:41, 23 June 2014 (UTC)Reply
