Wikipedia talk:Policy patrol
I don't really like the name "Policy patrol", I'm in a bit of a richard-stallmanesque mood on that. Maybe project namespace patrol, perhaps?
Anyway, people have been patrolling the project namespace for a while, so I thought it'd be handy to actually show who's doing it, and add an actual wikipage to coordinate so we don't need to run off helter skelter looking for people on 3 different irc channels, skype, phone and email, as per usual (the guilty know who they are). - Good idea, though I like the name and it's too late to change it now. What do you think this is, a wiki? :-) SlimVirgin (talk) 01:38, 20 May 2006 (UTC)
Membership
editPlease first talk with me before adding yourself as a member. There's no actual restrictions on who can join, but you do need to have a good grasp of wikipedia rules. :-) Kim Bruning 01:42, 20 May 2006 (UTC)
- Got Sasquatch and Bookofjude to join already. :-) Kim Bruning 02:15, 20 May 2006 (UTC)
- I'd like to join, altho I'm not sure I have a good grasp of the rules- I try to use as few of them as possible. Friday (talk) 02:25, 20 May 2006 (UTC)
- <quickly last post then...> I know, I've seen you around. :-) That's actually a great attitude. It's bedtime for me now, but hopefully we can speak on irc or msn or so tomorrow :-) Kim Bruning 02:31, 20 May 2006 (UTC)
- Sorry to have somehow missed you, please do help out, I think you'd be a great patroller. If you find you have any doubts in a particular situation, please discuss with someone else listed here. Kim Bruning 10:33, 23 May 2006 (UTC)

Oops, should've read this talk page first. If "talk with Kim" is a prerogative, I'm trying to do that now (sorry for not doing that first).
Anyway, came here for the following: I don't do "recent changes" all that often, but do checking of guideline/policy changes via those that are on my watchlist. So I added a list of Policy/guideline patrolling that can be expected of me (don't want to create false impressions). --Francis Schonken 08:24, 20 May 2006 (UTC)
- You're fine, please help out :-) Kim Bruning 10:33, 23 May 2006 (UTC)
Page structure
editPerhaps this should work like a Wiki project where outstanding issues are placed directly on the project page and then struck through once they're addressed. We could have a few broad headings and people could place "Please check this out" comments. Marskell 08:47, 20 May 2006 (UTC)
- Go for it :-) Though beware of attracting actual discussion to this page. Be very strict in forcing the discussion to stay on the pages in question, so as to prevent a forest fire. If you stop watching this page, change the rule and remove the outstanding issues entirely again. (ie. Keep your wiki tidy, and there's no problems :-) ) Kim Bruning 10:32, 23 May 2006 (UTC)
Hello
editI'm keenly interested in discussing wiki policy at the moment, and yall seem like the people most likely to comment :) I don't think I know wikipedia rules well enough, but I'm here to learn. I'm trying to get wiki policy veterans opinions on the idea of [[Wikipedia:Village_pump_%28proposals%29#Setting_up_a_talk_page_for_a_future_but_not_yet_created_article]. Thanks for your time. Renaming
editIt would help a lot if the page were renamed something with the WikiProject word in it, to make it clearer to people that it is a form of project. John Carter (talk) 20:13, 28 April 2008 (UTC)
