RfC of potential interest

edit

An RfC is underway that interested "watchers of this page" wound enhance by participating, I hope that many will! The discussion is located at Wikipedia talk:Twinkle#RfC regarding "Ambox generated" maintenance tags that recommend the inclusion of additional sources. Thank you.--John Cline (talk) 06:58, 29 January 2019 (UTC)Reply

Sfn

edit

The first recommendation on the do-list says <ref> or parenthetical should be used. I feel the Sfn (shortened footnote) template should be recommended as an alternative to <ref> or even as a better option, whereas the parenthetical inline referencing should perhaps be downgraded to "not recommended". What do you think? Best regards Johannes Schade (talk) 14:32, 2 February 2020 (UTC)Reply

As far as I'm aware, parenthetical referencing is not discouraged in the guidelines, though it is less common. I will change the part about ref tags to a link describing footnotes in detail. —swpbT • go beyond • bad idea 16:05, 4 February 2020 (UTC)Reply
