Wikipedia talk:Server status
If there ever was a page that needs to be on meta it is this. The servers serve more than just the English Wikipedia. --mav
- This page is explicitly geared towards the effects of the servers' state on www.wikipedia.org. --Brion 04:44, 6 Oct 2003 (UTC)
- OK - but a more inclusive page on meta might be nice. --mav 05:19, 6 Oct 2003 (UTC)

- dunno Brion. We are also concerned. We also had the an off time of several hours. Even if this one is mostly toward en.wiki consequences, users on other wikipedias also wonder what is going on. On the bistro, a user said, "well, it is probably down because they are doing some upgrades". Understand that the implication here is that users do not think "server down from a crash" but understand "we have not been told, but likely they are doing upgrades" (and god knows we would prefer this :-( ) ant. Good luck with the next hours :-)

- For Godsake, what do I keep doing ? I retrieved the page for fr, I put warning on the home page, and in Le Bistro, updated our announcement page. But if I had not seen that little link at the top (which is apparently now gone), I would not have been able to do it. Fortunately, I am not ambassador.
Wouldn't it be helpful to include a mechanical description of each server, just in case some generous soul out there has tougher equipment they might want to donate? -- [1], 2235 PDT, 10/5/03
