Subproject: Gray's Anatomy

Image from Gray's Anatomy. Most of Gray's anatomy has been added to the commons and to Wikipedia - work is mostly left in making sure everything is copied. If you would like to take on making a list of the works left that is the main priority of this project. Gray's Anatomy is an incredible public domain resource for both text and images. Help gather together this treasure trove of information and integrate it into Wikipedia! Goals Gather images from Gray's Anatomy and standardize the files, their descriptions, and their licensing. Gather text from Gray's Anatomy and integrate it into Wikipedia articles, while bringing the language up to date. Medial aspect.}} Add a few appropriate category labels and/or add the image to an appropriate gallery. And on to the next one! Text Text needs to be brought up-to-date into modern language. Lists Wikipedia:WikiProject Anatomy/List of subjects in Gray's Anatomy holds a list of lists that needs major link repair before they can be moved into article space. Each article, created in 2006, is a word-for-word copy of the index of the 1918 version of Gray's Anatomy. The articles are in terrible need of maintenance. For instance, at List of subjects in Gray's Anatomy (E), we see: Epigastric artery, deep or inferior: p. 623 peculiarities of: p. 623 surface markings of: p. 1321 superficial: p. 629 When the pages were created, each entry was simply wikilinked as is. For instance, the last entry should link to Superficial epigastric artery, but that wasn't done - it's just a link to the disambiguation page superficial. And of course a wikilink to peculiarities of makes no sense at all. In their current form, these articles are basically worthless. The project needs someone to go through the wikilinks in these lists and give them meaningful targets.

There is no reason that these need to be separate articles, and these could be merrily integrated into 'relations' or comparative sections in the parent articles.

Articles on bones are not only in poor shape, but often contain lists and exist in an ambiguous state between articles and disambiguation pages. These articles would benefit from either being standardised or, as with our terms of motion articles, collated into a larger page that not only provides context, but allows a central place for all that editing to occur.  Done Create high quality Anatomical terms of muscle in sandbox and move to mainspace. Many of these topics do not relate to fixed anatomical structures (such as bones or nerves) but concepts (such as epithelium or terminology).
