Health organization engagement documentation

edit

Hello! I am glad to see this project created. I also wish for health organizations to feel comfortable visiting Wikipedia and seeing how people engage with the information and their expertise.

Thanks for doing this! Blue Rasberry (talk) 17:34, 5 May 2014 (UTC)Reply

Hi John. I followed the link above and couldn't help myself. I don't want to muscle in, if you're looking forward to doing it yourself. If you'd like some help, or would like me to knock up a first draft, let me know. --Anthonyhcole (talk · contribs · email) 17:54, 5 May 2014 (UTC)Reply

No, that's fantastic - he was of course FRS, so my RS COI statement rather prevents me from going there. The team at CRUK had warm memories of him, and his books, & I'll try to get some adds from there, but please don't hold back at all, and move to mainspace any time. Cheers. Any sources that come your way would be very much appreciated. And a photo? (There's this at CRUK, and this at the RS.) --Anthonyhcole (talk · contribs · email) 00:13, 6 May 2014 (UTC)Reply
Cropped one from Commons, which is a start. Johnbod (talk) 23:06, 6 May 2014 (UTC)Reply

I've moved it to mainspace. I'll keep an eye on its talk page, and if you or his colleagues, friends or family add sources there I'll incorporate what I can in the article. --Anthonyhcole (talk · contribs · email) 01:45, 6 May 2014 (UTC)Reply

Comment on the WikiProject X proposal

edit

Hello there! As you may already know, most WikiProjects here on Wikipedia struggle to stay active after they've been founded. I believe there is a lot of potential for WikiProjects to facilitate collaboration across subject areas, so I have submitted a grant proposal with the Wikimedia Foundation for the "WikiProject X" project. WikiProject X will study what makes WikiProjects succeed in retaining editors and then design a prototype WikiProject system that will recruit contributors to WikiProjects and help them run effectively. Please review the proposal here and leave feedback. If you have any questions, you can ask on the proposal page or leave a message on my talk page. Thank you for your time! (Also, sorry about the posting mistake earlier. If someone already moved my message to the talk page, feel free to remove this posting.) Harej (talk) 22:47, 1 October 2014 (UTC)Reply

Style legacy

edit

I like to think that collaborations such as this project are viewed in terms of their overall contribution (rather than mere bureaucratic markers). In this perspective, I feel that one relevant aspect of the legacy of the ongoing CRUK–Wikipedia collaboration could be the medium/long-term effects of the drive for greater accessibility and clarity of Wikipedia's key medical content. The constructive review of our editorial culture in WikiProject Medicine regarding style and presentation was kick-started at the pre-Wikimania meeting at CRUK in August (along with the fascinating panel discussion that followed). Imo, Wiki CRUK John done a really great job in implementing some of the proposals working up the FA candidacy for the Pancreatic cancer page – no easy task. FAs provide examples of Wikipedia's best work which can also provide a useful model for Wikipedia contributors to refer to. I think it's really worth taking the trouble to go the last mile to get this 'presentation workshop' right. For the benefit of everyone. 86.181.67.166 (talk) 13:05, 12 January 2015 (UTC)Reply

WikiProject X is live!

edit

Hello everyone!

You may have received a message from me earlier asking you to comment on my WikiProject X proposal. The good news is that WikiProject X is now live! In our first phase, we are focusing on research. At this time, we are looking for people to share their experiences with WikiProjects: good, bad, or neutral. We are also looking for WikiProjects that may be interested in trying out new tools and layouts that will make participating easier and projects easier to maintain. If you or your WikiProject are interested, check us out! Note that this is an opt-in program; no WikiProject will be required to change anything against its wishes. Please let me know if you have any questions. Thank you!

Note: To receive additional notifications about WikiProject X on this talk page, please add this page to Wikipedia:WikiProject X/Newsletter. Otherwise, this will be the last notification sent about WikiProject X.
