WikiCU
To what extent is this project coterminous with WikiCU? I think some kind of arrangement needs to be formally worked out as to the extent of information posted here vs. its more Columbia-specific wiki. Columbia articles have been deemed outlandish in the past, and we may be able to tighten them up now that an outlet for more extraneous info exists. Cjs2111 17:36, 27 April 2007 (UTC)
- WikiCU is a personal website with a small number of users. They can write whatever they want. My only issue is having WikiCU users use Wikipedia to advertise WikiCU. Matan 03:43, 28 April 2007 (UTC)
What should we tag?
I think we should discuss what we want to cover here. I was thinking that we should cover the people, places, and things associated with the university, particularly everything in Category:Columbia University. I have been tagging each article semi-automatically, around 700 now, but am in the process of applying to create a Bot to automate the edits. Do you think that this should be the focus of the wikiproject, anything more anything less? The people at Bot Requests for Approval want to have some idea of what we're about before we create this bot. --Valley2city₪‽ 02:32, 3 May 2007 (UTC)
- I would advise against having a bot doing article tagging; unless some member of the project is actually going to pay attention to an article, it should not be tagged.
Isaac Asimov
For example, the article on that distinguished alumnus, Dr. Isaac Asimov, is up for review at WP:FAR (precise link at the top of the article talk page). Members of this project are welcome to discuss and help fix the article; if no one is, this project should not be tagging it. Septentrionalis PMAnderson 19:10, 7 June 2007 (UTC)
Barack Obama FAR
Barack Obama has been nominated for a featured article review. Articles are typically reviewed for two weeks. Please leave your comments and help us to return the article to featured quality. If concerns are not addressed during the review period, articles are moved onto the Featured Article Removal Candidates list for a further period, where editors may declare "Keep" or "Remove" the article from featured status. The instructions for the review process are here. Reviewers' concerns are here.SandyGeorgia (Talk) 20:39, 8 July 2007 (UTC)
Robert Pollack
I have added a new Wikipedia article on Robert (Rocky) L. Pollack, a Canadian judge. In doing so, I noticed that there is already an article entitled Robert Pollack (biologist). It appears to be part of this WikiProject. I have added some disambig links to the two articles, but I cancelled the redirect from Robert Pollack to the biologist's page. I thought perhaps the best solution would be to move the biologist's article to the main page (Robert Pollack), and then just include a disamg. link at the top to my judge's page. Any thoughts? If there's someone else I should talk to about this, please point me in the right direction. Thanks! --MBueckert 21:17, 3 August 2007 (UTC)
- I would leave it as is: Robert Pollack as disambig, Robert Pollack (biologist), and Rocky Pollack (or Robert Pollack (judge)). — Malik Shabazz (Talk | contribs) 21:46, 3 August 2007 (UTC)
- I agree. They are each notable in their own fields and I think it would not be fair to give one page preference over another. Valley2city 05:46, 21 August 2007 (UTC)

Ahmadinejad
Anyone who is attending the school and has a camera, we really need a photo of Iranian President Ahmadinejad so we can use it in a Wikipedia article. Thanks. User:Zscout370 (Return Fire) 23:45, 21 September 2007 (UTC)
