Mark project as historical
editHello all, this project appears to be functionally dead. In the last few years (Archive), it looks like half the posts have concerned marking the page historical, while the other half have been random requests which were gently guided to article talk pages. Is anyone opposed to marking this project as historical? If no one objects I'll add the banner in a week. Happy holidays all and happy editing! Ajpolino (talk) 19:25, 27 December 2018 (UTC)
- Done R.I.P. WikiProject Fact Check. Those interested in fact-checking may find plenty to fill their time at Category:Articles lacking sources. All the best. Ajpolino (talk) 20:11, 3 January 2019 (UTC)
Merger proposal of WikiProject Fact and Reference Check into WikiProject Reliability
editI propose to merge Wikipedia:WikiProject Fact and Reference Check (WP:FACT) into Wikipedia:WikiProject Reliability (WP:WPRE). Both projects overlap significantly in scope, with a shared goal of improving the reliability of citations in Wikipedia articles.
WP:FACT's project pages are more comprehensive and better designed than WP:WPRE's pages, and the combined WikiProject should use WP:FACT's pages as a base with WP:WPRE's content merged in. I prefer the name WikiProject Reliability, but other suggestions for the combined WikiProject's name are welcome.
WikiProject Reliability was formerly known as WikiProject Wikipedia reliability (also an inactive project) until I reactivated it and moved it to its current name yesterday. If I had been aware of WikiProject Fact and Reference Check, I would have reactivated this project instead.
Hopefully, this merger will help transform two inactive WikiProjects into a single active one. — Newslinger talk 15:17, 5 January 2019 (UTC)
- Happy to have the pages here be useful! Since no one responded to the inactive thread above, I'm guessing folks don't have strong feelings about this page. Feel free to boldly merge to your heart's content (also, feel free to just redirect WP:FACT to the reliability project. Whatever you feel is best). Happy editing! - Thanks for clarifying the situation here! I'll start merging the projects together. — Newslinger talk 00:31, 6 January 2019 (UTC)
