Chippa United F.C.

edit

Hello Taskforce this page needs help Chippa United F.C.--Lglukgl (talk) 20:21, 20 July 2014 (UTC)Reply

@Lglukgl: Always remember to tag all these new articles with the project banner {{WikiProject Football|class= |importance= |Africa=yes}} in their talk pages to make that part of the job easier for everyone. If it's a season article, |season=yes should also be included. Davykamanzitalkcontribsalter ego 16:54, 23 July 2014 (UTC)Reply

Helping review + re-publish women's international footballer articles

edit

There are currently over 1,900 articles (mostly stub articles about international women's footballers who participated at the Olympics, World Cup or other international competitions) -- many from African countries -- that need review and re-publishing once references are confirmed. The deadline for this is April 24, 2017. Background information is available here: User:Aymatth2/SvG clean-up/Guidelines.

For those willing to help (any amount helps), the process goes fairly quickly once you get in a rhythm of reviewing and re-publishing. Please see User:Aymatth2/SvG clean-up/Female footballers for the list. The main steps are to:

  1. Open a draft article from the list
  2. Check refs to confirm information in the article and make any copyedits to the article to cleanup
  3. Once confirmed, move the draft to the article mainspace and activate the categories by removing the :
  4. Confirm the article's talk page is tagged with {{WP Women's sport|footy=yes}}{{WP Football|africa=yes}}

Thank you. Hmlarson (talk) 19:56, 26 February 2017 (UTC)Reply

Another way to target specifically African footballers includes going to their squad lists and clicking on any red links to see if there is an article moved to Draft. I'll add to the list below as I come across squads that have some of these draft articles available:

Zambian Premier League

edit

This is a request that the Zambian Premier League be renamed to FAZ Super League this after I saw a number of news article such as This one on SuperSport.com call it FAZ Super League and because of its sponsorship its called MTN FAZ Super League and also from the offical site here shows Zambia Super League. Request for information on WP1.0 web tool

edit

Hello and greetings from the maintainers of the WP 1.0 Bot! As you may or may not know, we are currently involved in an overhaul of the bot, in order to make it more modern and maintainable. As part of this process, we will be rewriting the web tool that is part of the project. You might have noticed this tool if you click through the links on the project assessment summary tables.

We'd like to collect information on how the current tool is used by....you! How do you yourself and the other maintainers of your project use the web tool? Which of its features do you need? How frequently do you use these features? And what features is the tool missing that would be useful to you? We have collected all of these questions at this Google form where you can leave your response. Walkerma (talk) 04:24, 27 October 2019 (UTC)Reply

Casablanca derby

edit

Perhaps someone from WP:AFRIFOOT could take a look at Casablanca derby and assess it? It would also be great if someone more familiar with football articles could look at Talk:Casablanca derby#Remove vandalism (see also WP:AN#Edit war) and try to help sort things out before the edit warring really get's out of hand. Maybe an admin who also works on FOOTY articles could take a look? If things can be sorted out without anyone getting blocked, then that would be good for all involved as well as for Wikipedia. Thanks. -- Marchjuly (talk) 02:37, 13 October 2020 (UTC)Reply
