editIf you are a new user to the fraternities and sororities Wikiproject, then it's likely you are a new user to Wikipedia. Some things to keep in mind with this project and Wikipedia:
- Wikipedia can be edited by anyone at anytime.
- Someone will write a lie and or something terrible about your organization. You can delete it. They can rewrite it. There are people who can block other people. Make friends with them.
- Wikipedia is an encyclopedia for the entire world - not everything is notable
- No articles on your chapter. Nobody cares much about your chapter. Just your organization.
- And, often, no articles on your founders. They were probably otherwise boring people.
- Wikipedia is free - anything that is not free (pictures or plagiarized text) may get you into trouble.
- Don't copy and paste from anywhere.
- Don't upload whatever images you found from Google Image search. You can use the crest...but it needs this whole complicated template thing. Let someone who spends too much time on here know if you need help.
- Wikipedia is full of real people.
- Real people are mostly assholes.
- Wikipedia is as reliable as you are.
- Use Google Book search or look at WikiSource for free textbooks and periodicals to find great information. Then cite that information.
- Wikipedia is written with wiki code.
- Wiki code is not as simple as just typing text. However, since you managed to learn your organization's history, the names of the founders, the creed, and you created an account on here - I know you can handle it.
- Wikipedia is a community.
- It's not you against the world. Ask for help. It's not the world against you. Don't get frustrated.
