Onyx page starts with "Onyx is a cryptocrystalline form of quartz. The colors of its bands range from white to almost every color (not including shades such as purple, blue, or black). Commonly, specimens of onyx available contain colors of white, tan, and brown. Sardonyx is a variant in which the colored bands are sard (shades of red) rather than black."

So is Onyx typically black or not. It's not clear here. Then the Onyx disambiguation page says Onyx is a black mineral. Someone in the know should clean this up.

Derbyshire spar

Are Derbyshire spar and Blue John the same mineral? The Derbyshire Blue John article (which I created from material originally at Blue John Cavern and Fluorite#"Blue John") seems to think so. I'm no geologist so I've not changed anything. Dave.Dunford (talk) 20:15, 15 March 2012 (UTC)

TOURMALINE [[ALL COLOURS}}

PLease explain to me via my E Mail ...Your colour grading etc describes Tourmalines as catogorised into the SEMI--PRECIOUS valuation chart!!! If a Paraiba green [[brite like a an electric neon lite...and was valued by two or three GEM--EXPERTS at $2000 ..p/ct in the trade....would WIKIPEDIA classify this as SEMI--PRECIOUS????and a top eye clean brite 3 ct oval CHROME --TOURM valued at $1000 p/ct ...Is this also clessified as SEMI--PRECIOUS....nothing personal ...just enquiring ,,,,Thanks Glenn///gemcutter//prospector/// — Preceding unsigned comment added by 197.111.242.45 (talk) 15:15, 18 May 2013 (UTC)
