Filmography of the Ainu

edit

I added some films to the new article Filmography of the Ainu, but I was wondering whether the focus could not be expanded to include fiction films. Right now, the lede defines the filmography in terms of documentary portrayals. That is a valuable list, but admittedly some of the early films are less "documentaries" than portrayals tinged with stereotypes--in other words, with fictional elements. The whole issue of how films have created images of the Ainu--not just of which films accurately portray them--is part of the larger issue of the relationship between Ainu and cinema. A list of fiction films could be a separate page, but since some of the documentaries also bear the problem of (mis)representing the Ainu, the filmography page could have two sections, one for documentaries and one for fiction films (the lede would have to be rewritten, however). Portal:Ainu

edit

Hi, I've been working on a Ryūkyūan WikiProject/task force, and someone said that a Portal:Ryukyu and a Portal:Ainu should be created. I've gone ahead and done this, but it falls under your scope and not mine. It's all in the march of progress though. ミーラー強斗武 (talk) 02:25, 27 January 2014 (UTC)Reply

Ainu Flag

All images of an Ainu flag were deleted due to uncertainty of their being in the public domain. See Commons:Deletion requests/Work of Bikky Sunazawa. ミーラー強斗武 (talk) 18:28, 1 February 2014 (UTC)Reply

Capitalization of Indigenous

edit

The North American Indigenous WikiProject guidelines endorse capitalizing the word "Indigenous" when referring to Indigenous peoples, in line with guidelines from the AP, the APA, the Chicago Manual of Style, the Native American Journalists Association, etc. Does this task force have a similar guideline?
