Wikifying Rfam imported articles
Many of the articles that fall into the RNA daughter project were initially imported from the database. Of the 500 or so imported new articles many are lacking crosslinks. I would like to propose that wikifying these articles should be a high priority for this project. Alexbateman 10:45, 15 June 2007 (UTC)
RNA wikiproject banner and templates
DO11.10 suggested 1) an RNA WikiProject banner for the Talk page, and 2) perhaps a few navigational templates to better link the articles together. DO11.10 suggested a good person to contact about creating nav. templates is Arcadian, he is really good at making them. Alexbateman 11:25, 16 June 2007 (UTC)
- Hi project members,
- I've put a shortcut on your project page: WP:RNA. I also suggest you set up a userbox for the members of the project, and perhaps a collaboration of the month? I'd be willing to help with these if necessary.
- I created a userbox and added categories to userpages: {{User RNA}}. I've also created Category:WikiProject RNA. --Steven Fruitsmaak (Reply) 16:37, 25 October 2008 (UTC)
- Thanks! I've added one. Must dust off my home page its looking pretty out of date. Steven, it would be great to get a collaboration of the month rolling. I'd be happy to contribute to that, my preference would be to work on an RNA family, but it would be good to hear the suggestions of others. Would you suggest it goes here: Wikipedia:Wikiproject RNA/RNA of the month? Alexbateman (talk) 09:55, 28 October 2008 (UTC)
- Could be useful. Even if I didn't add content I could still be of help as another set of eyes. Narayanese (talk) 02:35, 30 October 2008 (UTC)
- Yes, good name. I suggest you take a look at WP:MCOTW. --Steven Fruitsmaak (Reply) 19:58, 30 October 2008 (UTC)
The article above was written recently by me with the intention of making it FA. All comments and suggestions on the article are welcome and will be addressed. Exosome complex up for FA
The article above has been up for FA already for some time, but has not attracted a lot of remarks. Any comments and suggestions on the article are welcome and will be addressed. Similar WikiProjects
I notice that Metabolic Pathways is listed twice under 'similar' and 'sisters' should one be taken out? Tyciol (talk) 04:38, 2 June 2008 (UTC)
:I fail to see the similarity. Narayanese (talk) 06:59, 2 June 2008 (UTC)

RNA wikiproject label of interest
If we are going to get a collaboration of the month going then it would also be good to start adding labels to articles of interest a la the MCB prroject who use the {{Wikiproject MCB}} template on the talk pages of all articles of interest to molecular and cellular biology. Does anyone know how to make one? Alexbateman (talk) 11:50, 31 October 2008 (UTC)

nature article about RNA Journal editing
I assume people have seen this: Publish in Wikipedia or perish: Journal to require authors to post in the free online encyclopaedia. What does everyone think? Was this discussed by project members beforehand? -- phoebe / (talk to me) 01:19, 17 December 2008 (UTC)
- SmY RNA related article. --84.44.154.93 (talk) 22:02, 17 December 2008 (UTC)
Hi phoebe,
Yes I think many of us have seen it, but thanks for pointing it out. I think the article lacked enough detail for people to really understand what the RNA BIology journal is up to though. It does seem to be stimulating some healthy debate as well. Many of us discussed it beforehand, but this was offline as to get a news story in Nature one has to keep your powder dry :) Alexbateman (talk) 12:00, 19 December 2008 (UTC) There's additional discussion at Wikipedia:Administrators'_noticeboard#Scientific_journal_wants_authors_to_add_Wikipedia_articles.. The journals new guidelines are here. There's also been some discussion on wikien-l. Someone should probably get in contact with the journal so the editors who are willing to assist can be listed in some obvious place for authors to find. JoshuaZ (talk) 19:24, 19 December 2008 (UTC)
This article could use a GA reviewer. Narayanese (talk) 19:14, 1 February 2009 (UTC)
- Was passed by Tim Vickers. Narayanese (talk) 11:06, 21 February 2009 (UTC)
Merge this wikiproject as a task force to WP:MCB?
I made a proposal [1] to merge this wikiproject along with two others (WP:Metabolic Pathways & WP:Cell signaling) into the WP:MCB banner as a task force. Any comments would be most welcome in the WP:MCB note that I left. Cheers. Calaka (talk) 03:51, 23 May 2009 (UTC)
List of stubby articles?
Hi all - is there a list of stubby articles that fall within the scope of Wikiproject RNA? Would be nice to have a hitlist:) Sarahburge (talk) 11:39, 23 August 2011 (UTC)
Comment on the WikiProject X proposal
Hello there! As you may already know, most WikiProjects here on Wikipedia struggle to stay active after they've been founded. I believe there is a lot of potential for WikiProjects to facilitate collaboration across subject areas, so I have submitted a grant proposal with the Wikimedia Foundation for the "WikiProject X" project. WikiProject X will study what makes WikiProjects succeed in retaining editors and then design a prototype WikiProject system that will recruit contributors to WikiProjects and help them run effectively. Please review the proposal here and leave feedback. If you have any questions, you can ask on the proposal page or leave a message on my talk page. Thank you for your time! (Also, sorry about the posting mistake earlier. If someone already moved my message to the talk page, feel free to remove this posting.) Harej (talk) 22:48, 1 October 2014 (UTC)
Launch of WikiProject Wikidata for research
Hi, this is to let you know that we've launched WikiProject Wikidata for research in order to stimulate a closer interaction between Wikidata and research, both on a technical and a community level. As a first activity, we are drafting a research proposal on the matter (cf. blog post). Your thoughts on and contributions to that would be most welcome! Thanks, -- Daniel Mietchen (talk) 02:15, 9 December 2014 (UTC)
WikiProject X is live!
Hello everyone!
You may have received a message from me earlier asking you to comment on my WikiProject X proposal. The good news is that WikiProject X is now live! In our first phase, we are focusing on research. At this time, we are looking for people to share their experiences with WikiProjects: good, bad, or neutral. We are also looking for WikiProjects that may be interested in trying out new tools and layouts that will make participating easier and projects easier to maintain. If you or your WikiProject are interested, check us out! Note that this is an opt-in program; no WikiProject will be required to change anything against its wishes. Please let me know if you have any questions. Thank you!
Note: To receive additional notifications about WikiProject X on this talk page, please add this page to Wikipedia:WikiProject X/Newsletter. Otherwise, this will be the last notification sent about WikiProject X.
