Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Pashtun/Tasks

  1. I think we really need to fix the Wikis on tribes. A lot of the articles are "orphans" (they don't have any links to other articles). zakka 21:33, 30 June 2007 (UTC)Reply
  1. I agree sequentially is the key, pick a group and we can focus on them. We need a standard template of references for all tribes to which we can add more if needed. --Zak 08:26, 1 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

The Pashtun People's origins

edit

I have had this idea for a long time. It has recently been re-inforced by something I noticed while reading up on "Sart". There it was suggested that the word might be an altered version of "Soghd". R changing to Gh as French Parisians regularly do! I think it worth investigating that Paxtun might be very closely related to the Parthians. We users of the Iranian languages colloquially change the plural sign "An" to "Un" in conversation. Other factors such as being concentrated in the eastern part of the ancient Iranian kingdoms and also the Sassanid's view of the excellent Parthians as "slightly" foreign also lead up to this supposition. I'm not an academic expert, I can't even write the phonetic symbols to show the correct pronunciation of words I've mentioned, like An, Un, Soghd etc. But I feel it is an idea worth a follow up by learned experts. I'd be very pleased to assist as a pupil anyone willing to do so. — Preceding unsigned comment added by SBader (talkcontribs) 17:20, 21 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

Why Arabic Text on Pashtun Page

edit
Hi,
I just recently added myself to the list of members in the pashtun section. I am hoping that I will be a potent member of this community. I couldn't help but notice that this page Wikipedia:WikiProject_Pashtun has arabic text on the top flanked left and right with pushtoo script "Pukhtana" but what's with the Arabic text? I know what that arabic text means but it has religious connotation & In my humble opinion I don't think it should be there. Please discuss @Saadkhan12345:
