Consol Energy history section

Hi, I’ve proposed revisions to the Consol Energy article's history section on the article’s talk page, but haven’t received any feedback as of yet. I was hoping someone from this WikiProject might be willing to take a look and provide feedback on the revisions as I’d like to gain WP:CONSENSUS before moving forward with any revisions. Thanks! - CBuiltother (talk) 12:07, 4 January 2012 (UTC)

Football Nav box discussion

The rigid standardization of college football team nav box templates is being discussed at College football Wikiproject. Editors pursuing this standardization have already significantly altered various navboxes, including the Pitt football navbox. Since the lack of customization and rigid standardization may eventually touch policies for navboxes in other topics and Wikiprojects as well, you may wish to add your input to the discussion at the CFB Wikiproject as well as the Pitt football template. CrazyPaco (talk) 08:16, 24 December 2011 (UTC)

Now that the holidays are over, we still need comments regarding the strict standardization of template navboxes, which would disallow customization, at CFB Wikiproject as well as the Pitt football template. Thanks in advance for any comments. CrazyPaco (talk) 05:32, 6 January 2012 (UTC)

Neighborhood Photography

I'm hoping to slowly improve the photography on many of the city neighborhood pages. So far, I'm planning on taking new pictures in and reorganize pictures on the page for:

What are some other suggestions? These are only the pages I know off the top of my head that need revisions. Best, Weatherman1126 (talk) 06:52, 13 November 2011 (UTC)

Would you mind linking the pages and saying more about what revisions do you want to make? I am sure you are right, but it would give us more context for discussion. --Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| talk to me 15:39, 13 November 2011 (UTC)
Sure. Basically most pages I've listed have no picture from within the neighborhood, and the pages with pictures have ones that either don't represent the neighborhoods well or are low quality (e.g. South Side). So as I'm available, I'll try to get out and capture some new images from these various neighborhoods. Best, Weatherman1126 (talk) 17:25, 13 November 2011 (UTC)
I certainly support the idea. The more pictures, the better! --Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| talk to me 01:02, 14 November 2011 (UTC)
Great Pics, love them! Marketdiamond (talk) 11:45, 20 November 2011 (UTC)
Update: I've briefly started. Bloomfield, Lawrenceville, East Liberty are now more or less complete. --Best, Weatherman1126 (talk) 18:37, 14 January 2012 (UTC)

In the discussion linked above about template color that I simply cannot understand what the user is getting at. Can anyone help and leave comments? Thank you. CrazyPaco (talk) 17:04, 27 March 2012 (UTC)

Alcosan article marked as {{Pittsburgh-stub}} - why?

About a year ago I took what was a very meager entry for Alcosan and turned it into something with many references (we're now up to 20). I'd say that it now reads like a scholarly book chapter - lots of history. Is the "stub" rating there merely out-of-date? Should I remove it myself? Paul Heckbert (talk) 03:53, 4 August 2012 (UTC)

New, very important article for this project

Deletion of Edgar Snyder

Edgar Snyder was recently speedy-deleted for not sufficiently establishing the subject's notability. I asked the deleting admin to pass the article's contents on to me so that it could be improved and then resubmitted to mainspace, and I've restored it for now at User:Notyourbroom/Sandbox/Edgar_Snyder. I really don't have much time to work on Wikipedia nowadays, so if anyone would like to help make contributions, it would really be appreciated. —Bill Price (nyb) 00:37, 25 June 2012 (UTC)

Thanks Bill for the fast thinking and catch, I will see if I can add some too it. Edgar Snyder not notable? What's the world coming too :-) . . . I just wonder how many youtube ads he has up. MarketDiamond 01:31, 27 June 2012 (UTC)
As it is, the article should at least get a proper AfD hearing. --Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 12:36, 27 June 2012 (UTC)
Oh yeah, obviously—admin made a poor call—but I didn't want to antagonize. Figured it would be easiest and most productive to just get the article prose back, get it fixed up, and then get it resubmitted in a deletion-proof state. :) —Bill Price (nyb) 15:16, 27 June 2012 (UTC)
Yes what exactly would you suggest? Seems to meet all of the requirements so are we just talking about interpretation? I really am wishing this isn't yet another case of regional bias (like the time Wikinews kept kicking out the G20 news, something to the effect it isn't news unless and after they make a notable agreement, then to see Toronto's G20 appear weeks before and be retained on wikinews, and I can go on and on and on with examples. MarketDiamond 05:52, 1 July 2012 (UTC)
I'll leave a comment, the article looks good to go, they want more duplicate and triplucate citations? user:Marketdiamond MarketDiamond 21:38, 17 August 2012 (UTC)

I got a [note on my talk page http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=User_talk%3ANotyourbroom&diff=514519295&oldid=511581986] asking about this today. —Bill Price (nyb) 17:46, 25 September 2012 (UTC)

Steeler Nation discussion

There is a discussion Talk:Steeler_Nation#Hillbilly_and_Appalachia_references. referencing Steeler Nation as "hillbilly" and "white trash" (not my words) based on a free publication citation, also stating that the fanbase (not the team or the team's city) is the sole Applachian fanbase. Please add your insight. Thank you. MarketdiamondMarketDiamond 19:25, 29 August 2012 (UTC)

Request for comment: neighborhood article naming conventions

The main locus of discussion is here. The issue is that an organization in Central Northside voted to change the neighborhood's name to Allegheny City Central. This isn't an official municipal thing; for all official purposes, the neighborhood's name is still CNS, not ACC. The name change is explicitly referred to as a branding and marketing strategy, and it's meant to help increase property values in the area. My belief is that articles should reflect official neighborhood names, not nicknames or "branding initiatives". For example, we have Perry North (Pittsburgh) instead of Observatory Hill, Lawrenceville (Pittsburgh) instead of (e.g.) Lola or Larryville, and Bluff (Pittsburgh) instead of Uptown. The sole exception I can find in all of my research is the fact that Central Business District (Pittsburgh) redirects to Downtown Pittsburgh. Thoughts? —Bill Price (nyb) 15:48, 26 September 2012 (UTC)

Hey there Bill Price, not sure where you want us to leave comments on this (a formal RfC would be on that articles talk page so I'll follow that protocol). Marketdiamond (talk) 21:27, 30 September 2012 (UTC)
