Changes to the WP:1.0 assessment scheme
As you may have heard, we at the Wikipedia 1.0 Editorial Team recently made some changes to the assessment scale, including the addition of a new level. The new description is available atWP:ASSESS.
- The new C-Class represents articles that are beyond the basic Start-Class, but which need additional references or cleanup to meet the standards for B-Class.
- The criteria for B-Class have been tightened up with the addition of a rubric, and are now more in line with the stricter standards already used at some projects.
- A-Class article reviews will now need more than one person, as described here.
Each WikiProject should already have a new C-Class category at Category:C-Class_articles. If your project elects not to use the new level, you can simply delete your WikiProject's C-Class category and clarify any amendments on your project's assessment/discussion pages. The bot is already finding and listing C-Class articles.
Please leave a message with us if you have any queries regarding the introduction of the revised scheme. This scheme should allow the team to start producing offline selections for your project and the wider community within the next year. Thanks for using the Wikipedia 1.0 scheme! Religion in Puerto Rico
Some of the articles of the religions in Puerto Rico needed cleanup, such as Islam in Puerto Rico and Roman Catholicism in Puerto Rico. Since it's Puerto Rican related, I thought I let you all know. Magiciandude (talk) 14:51, 20 July 2008 (UTC)
Articles flagged for cleanup
Currently, 1784 articles are assigned to this project, of which 324, or 18.2%, are flagged for cleanup of some sort. (Data as of 14 July 2008.) Are you interested in finding out more? I am offering to generate cleanup to-do lists on a project or work group level. See User:B. Wolterding/Cleanup listings for details. Subscribing is easy - just add a template to your project page. If you want to respond to this canned message, please do so at my user talk page. --B. Wolterding(talk) 18:44, 21 July 2008 (UTC)
Puerto Rico Islanders
I was wondering if some of you more experience wiki member could take a look at the Puerto Rico Islanders article and see what needs to be done to improving it. I been working hard on most of the [[soccer] articles related with Puerto Rico and any feedback on does would be appreciated, so I can keep improving them. - The article is looking a lot better than it was when I first saw it last year. We should follow the example of other football articles like Hull City A.F.C. to keep up the work, now its a bit unfair comparing a club that was funded a few years ago to one that is a hundred year old but... here is what needs to be done, first of all we will need footnote references, those are crucial once the article is ready for promotion. Using newspapers and third-party sources instead of the team's website is the way to go here. Second, I would recommend more information in the "USISL" and "2008 season" sections, if these sections could reach the size found in the "2006 season" one, then there should be no problem content-wise since this team is young. The team's run in the USISL could be expanded by offering small summaries of each game. The CONCACAF performance could be under a different header, titled "International performance". The only remaining point is that the "Supporters ("La Hinchada")" section could be troublesome due to the language use, there might be peacock words being used to describe a certain group, I would rewritte it using some of the newspaper sources discussing the team's impact and merging it with the stadium's section to create a solid new one. Since their home turf has become known as "La Meca del futbol", there should be a smooth transition between the location and the team's followers. Although not nessesary per se, I would like a bit more material about the Islander's second division teams. Hope this can help, I am available to do some format corrections and other simmilar work if needed, cheers. - Caribbean~H.Q. 05:28, 25 July 2008 (UTC)
Thanks, I could work on doing most of what you suggested. The only major problem im gonna have is finding more about the USISL year or 7 games to be exact, since soccer then had almost no pulll in the media the only info I have on it it whats on the Islanders page and a article from a Houston newspaper stating the team move only. - I just finished a search and your point is taken, there is no material out there. Well, lets just jump over that point and keep going. This website could have some references for the team post-2004. Once these points are done, everything should be ready for peer review and then good article nomination, if everything goes well, this would be one of the few non-European club GAs. - Caribbean~H.Q. 05:18, 28 July 2008 (UTC)
