This may be of interest to the members of this project since some of those images may have been uploaded by one of you. There is an editor who has dedicated himself solely to the task of deleting Puerto Rican images. If interested, please view and comment here: Wikipedia:Files for deletion/2009 December 7. • Deletion of Puerto Rican images continues at commons, Luisa Capetillo and Ponce Massacre. --Jmundo (talk) 03:50, 10 December 2009 (UTC)
  • Don't worry about the deletion in commons of Luisa Capetillo. I checked and it wasn't properly sourced nor licensed. I went and uploaded a new version with the proper source and license (The image is pre-1923, no copyright applies). It is the Ponce Massacre image which I'm concerned about because it is a historically iconic image. A lot of people do not understand that what occurred in Puerto Rico in those days and certain images and news was often suppressed by the government with the intention that said news would attract world attention to the colonial situation of the island and that is why these iconic images did not receive the global attention which they rightfully deserved. If not, the photographer would have surely been awarded a Nobel Prize, don't you think? Tony the Marine (talk) 04:45, 10 December 2009 (UTC)

Thank you

To all my friends in Wikipedia. After so many years I have decided to take an extended leave from the project. My continued participation in the project has become less enjoyable as I have explainedhere. I thank God that I became involved in the project in the first place because not only have I used it to educate others, but I have also learned a lot from friends such as yourself. Try to maintain a high standard in your contributions and make sure that the truth is always told in what you write. I would like to wish you all a Happy New Year, may God Bless you and thank you for your friendship. Tony the Marine (talk) 02:47, 31 December 2009 (UTC)
