I will be continuing to very closely monitor the development of the film and intend to re-split it back to the page I created once/if shooting begins. I removed a box that suggested splitting it from the article today because it does not meet WP:NFF until it starts shooting. I'm sure that Dominik92 will also be helping with this as he has been helping since the film article was created. Broooooooce (talk) 10:12, 14 May 2008 (UTC)
I have decided to take on the task of improving the list of character article, per the to-do list. Today I alphabetized the "recurring characters" which I will be renaming to minor characters because a "recurring" character has to have a recurring role (star in more than one episode). Any ideas or suggestions are of course, welcome. One by one I will be going over each character's prose and then source the information with the appropriate episodes. Individual Episodes
editI have been helping to clear the episode articles of useless fancruft but I'm still stuck on sources. DOes anybody know where I can find some? Are the individual episodes even notable by themselves? The DominatorTalkEdits 13:49, 14 May 2008 (UTC)
- From my understanding, the individual episodes may be used as sources for the facts of what happened during that episode. That's how I'm approaching the list of characters--because the character list contains the episodes each minor character was featured in, I was going to use those episodes as sources for the prose; Perhaps a similar approach would work for you? After that, I was going to see if I could find 3rd party sources--but I am skeptical of being able to find any other reliable sources that are going to illuminate traits of a particular character--perhaps early reviews? Also, good to see you here, I knew you'd show up. Broooooooce (talk) 13:54, 14 May 2008 (UTC)
- Yes, the plot sections don't need to be cited to a third party but the cultural references do. I've been removing a lot of OR that could never be sourced, but we need some reception info. The DominatorTalkEdits 21:58, 14 May 2008 (UTC)
I've created a reference repository for AD related sources that are commonly used. Right now, it includes references to every episode which should (hopefully) make the task of sourcing plot information in various articles less tedious. Broooooooce (talk) 05:21, 15 May 2008 (UTC)
- You don't need to actually cite the episode, it's implied that you're doing so. The DominatorTalkEdits 13:59, 15 May 2008 (UTC)
- Are you sure? I feel like when I say a character did something, rather than just type out that "And in Development Arrested, George Michael finally reveals his feelings for Maeby to his father," I'd rather not mention the episode and just let the facts of the plot unfold within the prose more naturally and simply cite the sentences with the episode where it took place. Is this incorrect? Broooooooce (talk) 14:08, 15 May 2008 (UTC)
- Also, I was going to use the sandbox page for putting some useful source links for the ADTF, in case I found anything that might have cultural references or reception information and the like Broooooooce (talk) 14:09, 15 May 2008 (UTC)
- I think I get it now, you are working on pages for individual episodes, so of course it's implied. I'm working on the list of characters and their actions span multiple episodes, so references to them actually would be appropriate, I believe. Broooooooce (talk) 14:20, 15 May 2008 (UTC)
- No, no, no. I don't believe that you need to cite them at all, as long as it is something that anybody can confirm while watching it, although it might be a good idea to cite a generic fact to a specific episode, I'm not sure if there is a specific guideline on this, I'll have to check and ask around. Leaving the task force
editApparently, the founder of the ADTF has been blocked and now claims to be in semi-retirement following allegations that he vandalized someone's user page or something (see User:Joelster). Considering there are only four of us anyway and I was a bit hesitant to join to begin with, and given that our founder has not really contributed significantly to any AD related articles that I can find, I am just going to continue to monitor movie news and work independently. Broooooooce (talk) 05:32, 17 May 2008 (UTC)
- I am now unblocked. It was a silly mistake I made whilst drunk. Yes, I am planning on retiring from all Wikipedia activities except for the Wikiprojects I am a member of and this taskforce. Joelster (talk) 07:38, 19 May 2008 (UTC)
FAR Review
editI have nominated Arrested Development (TV series) for a featured article review here. Please join the discussion on whether this article meets featured article criteria. Articles are typically reviewed for two weeks. If substantial concerns are not addressed during the review period, the article will be moved to the Featured Article Removal Candidates list for a further period, where editors may declare "Keep" or "Remove" the article's featured status. The instructions for the review process are here. --TorsodogTalk 19:24, 7 September 2009 (UTC)
Updates to TV#MOS
editI'm not sure how many people monitor WP:MOSTV or even WP:TV (the basic WikiProject for all of us), but we've been trying to get some feedback on additions to the TV Manual of Style. It largely has to do with the inclusion of "Overview" tables at the start of the page, the order in which season lists are presented (currently, there is no concrete order), and what is considered too much info for DVDs (i.e. should we be placing every detail about the box set in the article, from each interview to the aspect ratio, or should be keep it more generalized). Please see discussion at WT:MOSTV#Updates to the MOS. Thank you. BIGNOLE (Contact me) 22:06, 29 August 2010 (UTC)
Consistency vs. Quality
editNot sure that anyone's paying attention to this page, but I recently removed a number of non-encylopedic "notes" from "The Ocean Walker" only to have my change undone because it made the article "inconsistent" with other episode articles. I believe this is a case of WP:OTHERSTUFFEXISTS, but I'd like some support before I make any further changes. Doniago (talk) 18:12, 4 March 2013 (UTC)
Series overview tables
editPlease come to Wikipedia talk:Manual of Style/Television#Series overview tables and the like to discuss the implementation of these tables in television articles, from main articles to List of Episode pages. BIGNOLE (Contact me) 19:26, 24 January 2014 (UTC)
Closing inactive task forces
editI invite editors to join the discussion at WP:WikiProject Television to close inactive task forces, including this one. Gonnym (talk) 12:07, 10 July 2021 (UTC)
