The Sundance Woman
editHi there. Regarding this explanation of your revert of Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, you may want to take a look at Etta Place, where the same source is cited regarding the same movie, as mentioned in the original edit summary. —151.132.206.250 (talk) 16:39, 4 June 2024 (UTC)
- I've removed the IMDb citation there. IMDb isn't a reliable source in the first place, and certainly not one that satisfies WP:IPCV. DonIago (talk) 16:45, 4 June 2024 (UTC)
- That’s fair. Thanks for following up!
Edit: I think you edited the wrong line, though. I’ll take care of it. —151.132.206.250 (talk) 16:51, 4 June 2024 (UTC)- You're welcome! Glad we could talk through this! Happy editing! DonIago (talk) 17:24, 4 June 2024 (UTC)

The Bridge on the River Kwai
editHello,
If you were to watch the film, you could see that the five names which I recently added to the Cast listing section of The Bridge on the River Kwai article all appear in the on screen credits. Additionally, all of these names are also listed in the credits section for the film on the TCM website. I therefore do not understand which logic was employed in making the decision to revert my edit. Can you please clarify this for me.
Thank you. Observer1632 (talk) 15:00, 5 June 2024 (UTC)
- Please see WP:FILMCAST; the Cast section shouldn't be used to list every individual who appears in the film. DonIago (talk) 15:05, 5 June 2024 (UTC)
- I never add someone to a Cast listing simply because that individual "appears in a film"; in particular, I do not add uncredited roles. But are you saying that if someone's actual name is included in the on screen credits at the start of a film, that is not 'good enough' for that person to have a place in the Cast listing of the associated Wikipedia article? Observer1632 (talk) 15:15, 5 June 2024 (UTC)
- Did Bridge even include end credits for the Cast? It's a matter of due weight; if the opening credits list the majority of actors in the film, then appearing in them says less about the actor/role's significance than if the opening credits list four people but the closing credits list 200 people. But the fact that the roles aren't even named isn't encouraging to me as an indicator of their significance. Of course, you're welcome to ask about this at the article's Talk page as well. DonIago (talk) 15:19, 5 June 2024 (UTC)
- With regards to your question, I just went to check and the film does have end credits; that is where the role of Ann Sears is identified as being "Nurse" and the other four individuals are listed as "Siamese Girls". Again, all five ladies also appear in the on screen credits at the start of the film.
- I wish you a good rest of your day. Observer1632 (talk) 15:45, 5 June 2024 (UTC)
- Thanks. I remain neutral on the idea of adding them given that they aren't even named (I'd feel similarly about Ann Sears if the question was raised). If you feel strongly about this, I have no objection to you asking the question at the article's Talk page. DonIago (talk) 16:24, 5 June 2024 (UTC)
