• Thanks for letting me know. It just annoys me how some IP user has the gall to erase my photos. There were no just grounds for erasing either of the photos which I keep replacing, and I made it clear to those editors to stop. Hi, thanks for getting in touch. I don't believe the other editor was an IP user, but even if they were it wouldn't matter. When an argument about content occurs here, unless there are policy violations (obvious vandalism, copyright infringement, etc.) the best practice is to communicate with the editor you're in opposition with, either on their Talk page or at the Talk page for the article where the dispute is occurring. If you can't reach a consensus on your own, there are other options.

If other editors are deleting your content, I recommend assuming good faith and asking them about it rather than starting a confrontation. It takes two to edit-war, and in the end unless there is a policy violation going on, you're just as responsible for reinserting your material as the other editor is for removing it.

Films Featuring Time Loops

Hi Doniago! This article combines two of my favorite things -Time travel and Movies. I believe there are a lot of movies missing from this list. I see you've reverted two of the inclusions I've made. I'd really appreciate it if you explained how I could do it right so I can add to the article fruitfully. The nature of the movies themselves warrant an inclusion in the list. Apart from that, some of the other movies have similar sources e.g. Rotten Tomatoes and they're still on this list. Thank you! With regards to the article, as the lead of it discusses, each entry should include a reliable source as a means of establishing that the time looping aspect of it attracted attention from someone other than, say, a Wikipedia editor. Wikipedia articles should not include indiscriminate lists of items, so we include the sources to demonstrate significance. The sources that you included were a forum and a page written by someone that was not subjected to editorial oversight. These are both self-published sources, and consequently are not considered reliable for our purposes and should not be used in citations. We're looking for sources subject to peer review or editorial oversight such as a professional newspaper or magazine or website that is not based on user-submitted content.

While Rotten Tomatoes would not establish significance in and of itself (unless perhaps it had an article discussing films with time loops), in the entries I reviewed where RT came up, at least one additional source was provided as well. If you have concerns about any of the other entries, you're welcome to discuss them at the article's Talk page, or could even be bold and remove them. You're also welcome to ask me about them and I'll take a look.

MOS:FILM#Soundtrack - "Track listings for film scores are generally discouraged since the score is usually composed by one person and the score's tracks are generic descriptions of scenes from the film. Pinch Compromise

Undoing the link to the wrong term. If you insist of using a slang term for the device I suggest you fix the link to the correct term,. I suggest you modify the title of the article z-pinch to be "Pinch" (device) and then recreate the link from the article to point to it. This should have been addressed when someone created the article to begin with but someone got lazy when the wrote it. They should have known something was wrong when the couldn't find the term pinch.

And yes since you asked, Yes if you want a reliable source.. I am an actual plasma physicist at Caltech, if you'd like I can post about 1000 articles to you personal webpage to substantiate my claim. As far as modifying the title of an article, you're welcome to raise that matter at the article's Talk page. I know next to nothing about electricity and/or plasma physics and consequently am not in a position to have an opinion on the matter.

Because Ocean's 11 is a film, we cannot assume that technologies presented in it are necessarily intended to reflect specific real-world tech. To avoid synthesis we would need a source that specifically mentions the film. Otherwise to refer to anything other than what's brought up in the film itself would be original research. In other words, we should use the terminology presented by the film unless we have compelling reasons to do otherwise.

That said, as I mentioned, if other editors support your changes then I have no problems abiding by consensus.

Fixed the hyperlink to go to the right article. Still uses the term "pinch" as a slang term, but it redirects to z-pinch, which if you notice has a nice picture of what you are visualizing. The Z-pinch article has also been modified to mention the slang term.

Please note that by Wikipedia rules if you do not know about the technology being referred to...that clinically an admin can charge you for both vandalism of an article as well as ownership of an article

Actually they can the policy is posted regarding vandalism...on the good note they cant penalize you for an occasional misunderstanding like here....you admitted you were unfamiliar at the time and were willing to work a compromise which you appear to be okay with the final modification.....you do have an occasional admin that will "drill" you for it but that can be fixed by usually going to another admin and having that admin do an arbitration.

With all due respect, if I'm interpreting your statements about policy correctly, they are not consistent with my understanding of policy. Given that it seems likely I've been editing here much longer than you have, you'll have to forgive me if I take your claims with a bit of salt. DonIago (talk) 03:21, 23 July 2014 (UTC)

Given that the term pinch isn't referenced at all now, I don't know what you're talking about.
