Neighborhood stuff
I found http://www.sanantonio.gov/PLANNING/neighborhoods/north%20inner%20loop/08-NE%20Inner%20Loop-Community%20Facilities.pdf, which can be useful while describing some neighborhoods. WhisperToMe (talk) 04:04, 5 March 2010 (UTC)
Article to use
There is an article from a 1970s Texas Monthly that can be used to refer to stuff about an expressway in San Antonio. Herbert Malloy Mason, Jr. wrote "The Second Battle for San Antonio" on Page 51 of the April 1973 Texas Monthly (ISSN 0148-7736). It is available on Google Books WhisperToMe (talk) 19:27, 2 April 2010 (UTC)
Morgan's Wonderland is getting national attention. I think it really deserves an article on the project. At the time of this writing, it has one, but it is a blatant copyvio, based originally off of a cut&paste from the park's press release. This creates major issues, not the least being the copyvio itself, and the totally promotional nature of the text. I've tagged the page for G12 CSD deletion, as I don't really think there's much salvageable there, given the roots of the current article. But once the G12 CSD is processed, I think we do need an article in that place. Given all the current media attention, I would think there would be plenty of sourcing for a good, non-spammy article. But my skills do not lie in article writing. (I'm a Wiki-gnome by skill set.) So I'm asking if one of the other wiki-project folks would be willing/able to take on the task of, fairly quickly, getting a real, non-copyvio, non-spam, article written up to replace the current one. - TexasAndroid (talk) 14:16, 9 April 2010 (UTC)
- I started a stub on it. WhisperToMe (talk) 15:36, 2 May 2010 (UTC)
Spirit of San Antonio
Is it possible that a page could be made for SOSA, UTSA's Marching band. Especially since some consider us San Antonio's Band. I don't know how to write articles, but I could answer questions about it. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Snorkel378 (talk • contribs) 04:55, 26 December 2011 (UTC)
Photo needed tabling
There have been discussions on some user talk pages (like mine) about a future SA meetup in the form of one (or more) photo safaris. If this does come about, it'll likely target one region of SA for an initial trial run. Towards this, the photo requests need to be somehow tracked by what part of SA they are in. As a first step towards this, I have now tabled up the requests. The table has columns for addresses, which can be pulled from many of the articles, and for Region, which at this stage I'm just envisioning being things like "Near NW", "Far South", "Middle West", etc. The idea is to get general regions for each, not to be encyclopedia about it. This is totally for use in planning the photo safari.
There is no rush on this. Especially as we have no date set for a safari. I'm thinking of doing a few now and then, and anyone else is welcome to jump in and find addresses and/or tag regions.
By "Near", "Middle", and "Far", in my mind I'm thinking anything inside LP 410 is Near, between 410 and 1604 is Middle, and outside 1604 is Far. And anything inside the inner 35/10/281 loop is Downtown. S/N/W/E/SW/NW/SE/NE is up to the judgement of whoever marks an item. - TexasAndroid (talk) 17:49, 28 December 2011 (UTC)
Help Improve Texas Projects and Portals
This is an open invitation to anyone interested in helping to update the information on the various Texas projects and portals. The information is generally out-of-date, sometimes by years. Every little bit helps. Every small improvement adds to the larger whole. Together, we can get the Texas pages to look current and helpful to visitors.
These two Category links will take you to the various pages:
Anyone interested in improving the basic look and structure, could open a WP:RfC. Dialogue is good for the project.
These are areas I see could be improved, in addition to miscellaneous information on the portal and project pages:
- Participant lists could be divided in to two separate lists: Active, and Inactive participants
- Task lists that require monitoring, can be somewhat automated by replacing the individual topic items with category page links
- Eliminate duplication of efforts. Inter-connect the like sections in different pages to a singular template.
- As an example, I already updated the Open Tasks on WikiProject Texas, and the Things You Can Do on the Texas portal. These are exactly the same information, but point to two different templates. In a perfect world, these two pages would point to the same template, but they don't - possibly due to page formatting. I updated the templates they point to, so at least the individual items will point to Wiki links that would, in essence, make the list items self-updating. But it would be better if both pointed to only one template.

Discussion to remove the Automatically assessed logic from the WikiProject United States template
Greetings, there is a discussion regarding removal of the logic used to populate Automatically assessed article categories from Template:WikiProject United States. Most of the categories (over 220 Wikipedia wide) were deleted in February 2013 because they were empty. These categories were previously populated by a bot that hasn't run since 2011 and the categories aren't used. Removal of this uneeded/unused logic will greatly reduce the size and complexity of the WikiProject United States template. Any comments or questions are encouraged here. Kumioko (talk) 18:50, 28 August 2013 (UTC)
- Lest there is any confusion for people who don't speak the same language, the words "logic used to populate Automatically assessed article categories" refer to the feature that was supposed to allow this WikiProject's template to "inherit" class and importance ratings from other WikiProjects. Kumioko says that there are no longer any bots performing the function that formerly copied those ratings. --Orlady (talk) 23:43, 31 August 2013 (UTC)

- When? June 2015
- How can you help?
- 1.) Create or improve LGBT-related articles and showcase the results of your work here
- 2.) Upload photographs or other media related to LGBT culture and history, including pride events, and add images to relevant Wikipedia articles; feel free to create a subpage with a gallery of your images (see examples from last year)
- 3.) Contribute to an LGBT-related task force at another Wikimedia project (Wikidata, Wikimedia Commons, Wikivoyage, etc.)
Or, view or update the current list of Tasks. This campaign is supported by the Wikimedia LGBT+ User Group, an officially recognized affiliate of the Wikimedia Foundation. Visit the group's page at Meta-Wiki for more information, or follow Wikimedia LGBT+ on Facebook. Remember, Wiki Loves Pride is about creating and improving LGBT-related content at Wikimedia projects, and content should have a neutral point of view. One does not need to identify as LGBT or any other gender or sexual minority to participate. This campaign is about adding accurate, reliable information to Wikipedia, plain and simple, and all are welcome!
If you have any questions, please leave a message on the campaign's main talk page.
Thanks, and happy editing!

Request for information on WP1.0 web tool
Hello and greetings from the maintainers of the WP 1.0 Bot! As you may or may not know, we are currently involved in an overhaul of the bot, in order to make it more modern and maintainable. As part of this process, we will be rewriting the web tool that is part of the project. You might have noticed this tool if you click through the links on the project assessment summary tables.
We'd like to collect information on how the current tool is used by....you! How do you yourself and the other maintainers of your project use the web tool? Which of its features do you need? How frequently do you use these features? And what features is the tool missing that would be useful to you? We have collected all of these questions at this Google form where you can leave your response. Walkerma (talk) 04:24, 27 October 2019 (UTC)
New Members?
Hi! I have never tried to contribute to a project like this before. How do I join you guys? Do I need to be a member or do I just start helping out? I am a San Antonio resident and would love to contribute to this project. Joseph5234 (talk) 02:25, 7 August 2013 (UTC)
I am currently working on the City of Cibolo, but can put in the effort to focus on the I-35 corridor from San Antonio to New Branufels and the I-10 corridor from San Antonio to Seguin. I just need to know how I become an official member of WikiProject San Antonio. CiboloBuffalo (talk) 05:19, 3 December 2017 (UTC)
Reactivate WikiProject Texas?
I have just marked WikiProject Texas as inactive. They have not answered their help talk page since at least August 2018, they are not doing assessments, nor do I detect any other project activity. Anyone interested in breathing life back into the project, please let me know if you have any ideas about how to do this. No need to ping, I have added this page to my watch list. New members and photo requests
Hello! How may I join this project? I live in Leon Valley and I'm new to Wikipedia, and I'm looking to help out on improving pages that are about or related to San Antonio.
Additionally, who should I inform if I get a picture request done?
Jcelto (talk) 01:41, 29 January 2022 (UTC)
- Hi Jcelto:
- I have never been involved in WikiProject San Antonio, but I am answering because this it is not very active and it may be hard for you to get an answer from someone otherwise. Thanks for your interest in improving Wikipedia. You could probably just post notices of photo uploads to this talk page, and if the project page is still being edited, someone will most likely see that here as well. Please feel free to edit pages, and if you reach out to me, I will answer your questions the best I can or find someone better qualified to help you. Best regards, Oldsanfelipe2 (talk) 12:11, 29 January 2022 (UTC)
