Status Report
editSo who's doing what for this issue? I'm willing to do the distributing, as always, just let me know. ++Lar: t/c 21:31, 26 September 2006 (UTC)
- I'll do the usual stuff, seeing who has joined up and who has done what per the usual sources. I'm not so up to date on what has been happening within articles as I have not been around the project recently. I'll make a start tomorrow (30th).LessHeard vanU 20:00, 29 September 2006 (UTC)
- I've done some news and added participants and article adoptions. I noticed the lead ed chair was empty - so I've leapt into it! However, once I've checked the Log I am sort of lost as to what is going on. Other than some vandals attempting to delete The Beatles Trivia and John Lennon (!!!) I am not up to speed. If this means I lose the chair, then so be it!(grin)LessHeard vanU 17:18, 30 September 2006 (UTC) (sig added later)
C'mon folks, what is the big project story? What has generated the most talk/editing? Are there any other editors worth tapping for input/suggestions? Kingboyk is not heresee below and is the usual source for this info, so I/we need a bit of help here!LessHeard vanU 20:22, 30 September 2006 (UTC)
Re Kingboyk; does anyone know how long he is going to be absent? I have half a mind to make his absence the lead story, as a type of homage, but it would only work if we know how long he will be away. Of course folk may think this is not the type of thing the newsletter should be used for - but he and Lar are the progenitors for the entire Project, and it could be an amusing lead.LessHeard vanU 20:22, 30 September 2006 (UTC)
- Who says he's going to be absent (and where)? I mean, he did just comment in one of the threads below recently.... —Gordon P. Hemsley→✉ 04:43, 1 October 2006 (UTC)
- He has a banner at the top of his talk page claiming he is taking a "Wikibreak". He did in fact respond to my pleading message re the newsletter, but indicated he wasn't able to help this issue. Finding that he had dropped in on this page after my above comment was a tad embarrassing, but I can live with it... it is more a comment that we need a bit of substance in this issue.LessHeard vanU 12:48, 1 October 2006 (UTC)
User:I Am The Walrus
editI notice that this users name is redlinked. There is no such page, therefore no contributions history etc. As such is it worthwhile noting this user as a participant? Lar will not be able to deliver anyway, so it may as well be removed from the participants at the Project page too (with a note on the talk page).LessHeard vanU 17:25, 30 September 2006 (UTC)
- First off, just because a user hasn't created a user page doesn't mean they have no contributions. See I Am The Walrus (talk · contribs). Also, we never take into consideration whether or not they've contributed to the project. If they've added their name to the "Participants" list, they're listed in the newsletter. Also, could you clarify what you mean in reference to Lar? —Gordon P. Hemsley→✉ 04:40, 1 October 2006 (UTC)
- Okay, I couldn't find a contributions page (and now see they did indeed edit). re Lar; he delivers to the participants talk page, which this user hasn't got - which, unless a delivery creates the talk page, nowhere to receive the newsletter.LessHeard vanU 12:44, 1 October 2006 (UTC)
- I'll create the talk page as part of delivery, no worries there. I'll typically put a generic welcome on it too, if no one has beaten me to it by then (tomorrow nite?)... ++Lar: t/c 15:35, 2 October 2006 (UTC)

Closing this issue out
editI can take a quick pass maybe tonite at content... if it's ready to go I can deliver as always. No worries there. Tomorrow nite would be better for me to work on stuff though. Yes it means we are a day or two late but that's OK. ++Lar: t/c 15:20, 2 October 2006 (UTC)
- I've put in both lead Project article and Issue of the Month (the same subject, as ever). Once Gordon has a look - he is pretty hot on layout and things like that (my typos especially) - then I think it will be ready to go.LessHeard vanU 16:05, 2 October 2006 (UTC)
- Barring any new edits, it looks like we're good to go. The Issue of the Month could use some links, but that's about it. —Gordon P. Hemsley→✉ 05:57, 3 October 2006 (UTC)
- This issue states that She Loves You's FA status is being reviewed, but this is wrong. It already has been, and lost its FA star on 25th September 2006. LuciferMorgan 19:58, 3 October 2006 (UTC)
- Can you fix that? I plan to send this out tonite. ++Lar: t/c 20:17, 3 October 2006 (UTC)
- Wow! A person that's not one of the Big Four! Anyway, I fixed it. Hope it sounds OK. —Gordon P. Hemsley→✉ 00:48, 4 October 2006 (UTC)
