Proposals
editThe partial shading of states
editThe partial shading of states has been one of the perennial issues that this WikiProject has dealt with since its inception. Passage of this proposal would allow for states to be partially shaded. This would allow for regions to be more accurately and precisely shown but it would also expanded the potential for disagreement, which could make the map series more unstable.
For
edit- Jmabel | Talk 09:25, 8 May 2006 (UTC): I think we should do it. For example, West Texas is certainly in the West, but Houston? Definitely not. I think we might best solve this with a graduated shading, or something, but the simple fact is that regions don't necessarily have state lines as their borders. - Jmabel | Talk 09:25, 8 May 2006 (UTC)

Against
edit- Acegikmo1 04:59, 15 May 2006 (UTC). I think that it's more useful to define regions in a more limited and conservative sense. It will lead to less conflict (after all, how much should be shaded as a semi-included area?) and it also fits with my notion of regions in the US as generally well (and strictly) defined areas. Again I realise voting has closed, but I wish to express my view. Acegikmo1 04:59, 15 May 2006 (UTC)

editVote for as many candidates as you support. The candidate with the most votes wins, in the event of a tie a runoff will be held after the general election.
- Jmabel | Talk 09:25, 8 May 2006 (UTC): sure, he seems to be the main person working on this.
- I realise voting is closed, but I wish to register my support. Acegikmo1 04:56, 15 May 2006 (UTC)
