Proposal for articles to be included

[edit]

Hey @Shwabb1, I was thinking about proposing here which articles to be preliminarily include in our culture task force. Nominally, we could simply tag everything in the Category:Culture of Ukraine tree, but there might be room for more, depending on our criteria.

I already tagged the following articles thar I wrote recently:

Then I realised that no task force template had been created yet. And just now, I was considering whether some of these might better fall under Ukrainian language and literature, or Ukrainian MILHIST, rather than Ukrainian culture. What do you think? Good day, NLeeuw (talk) 18:29, 18 January 2026 (UTC)Reply

Hello. Yes, the tag hasn't been added yet because Template:WikiProject Ukraine is protected, so an edit request is necessary. As I said in my last comment at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Ukraine, I thought it would be more convenient to request the addition of all task forces at once when they are created, but now I'm not so sure that each one will progress at the same pace, so I'll make an edit request for the culture task force right away. I also agree that the exact scope still has to be defined. Literature could be included but if the language and literature task force is created, the latter would be a better fit. Another topic I'm not so sure about is sport (football is obviously covered by the football subproject but other sports are still in question).
As for these specific articles, I think Kiev in the Golden Horde period and History of Kyiv (1362–1657) relate more to history than culture. The rest are about pieces of literature, and their inclusion depends on the (non-)creation of the language and literature task force. The content of Correspondence between the Ottoman sultan and the Cossacks is also related to military history, and there's nothing wrong with tagging certain articles under multiple task forces, so it could belong to two. By the way, regarding the Milhist task force, its full creation could be slower as I suspected, as one WikiProject coordinator of WP Milhist has suggested first setting it up in the incubator to confirm that it would be active and only later turn it into a proper task force.
