Awards

edit

Something I've just thought of (thanks to Redphoenix526): overhauling the Awards system of the project, so that something like {{subst:WikiPoject_Sega/Awards|A=Thanks}} (an award for good work) or {{subst:WikiPoject_Sega/Awards|A=Join}} (to invite editors) will produce instant awards (in the same way as the {{Welcome!}} template does on talk pages), just to tidy up the awards page and make it easier to understand (and use), plus it would only use one article page. I'm working on a lot of other things just now, but I'll see what I can do!  Doktor  Wilhelm  05:14, 14 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

Well, I'm glad I could give you some help. I just put up the award I gave you on the awards page and have a primitive selection system up, but it does need an overhaul. Redphoenix526 (talk) 08:36, 14 February 2008 (UTC)Reply
I've sort of got a system for the awards running in my sandbox, but it's nowhere near finished, I'll improve the code on the awards page of the project though, as it's very flawed (too much extra, un-needed, code).
Please Do Not Use These Templates (yet), They Are Only For Show:

In the "Thank you, WikiProject Sega" the WikiPoject part will be automatically replaced with the name of the Editor whoes talk page it's placed on, and the signature tides (~~~~) are also automatic.
Unfortunatly the way I have done the coding, the background colour can't be changed for different awards. I will (as I've already said) use a more simpler template system for the awards for now, so that they have the automatic coding, as I believe I may not be able to correct the flaws in my coding.  Doktor  Wilhelm  20:16, 16 February 2008 (UTC)Reply
Hopefully we can change the colors because I think they need to be different so it's easier to tell one from another. But I guess we'll just have to see about that. In the meantime, everyone, please use the older awards system while we figure out the new one. Redphoenix526 (talk) 21:19, 16 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

Award Nomination System?

edit

How about this for the Project Award and the Assessment Award: two people must award it, similar to naming A-Class articles. If you want to award it to someone, mention it here on the discussion page, say why they deserve it, and have someone else approve it. Then it can be sent off. Sound good? By the way, the Assessment Award I created is dark red for all the blood and sweat that goes into article assessment (having done so many, trust me, it takes a lot.)
