Assessments

edit

WikiProject Volcanoes has now been active for six weeks, and over 1800 articles have been tagged with the {{Volcano}} banner. In order to easily identify articles in need of attention, it is clear that the time has come to implement assessments, based on Wikipedia:Version_1.0_Editorial_Team/Assessment. Adding "class" and "importance" parameters to the template will divide those 1800+ articles into more manageable subcategories.

Please feel free to make any comments or suggestions either here, or at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Volcanoes. Thanks. --Seattle Skier (See talk tierS) 23:54, 27 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

Want some help with the assessment, or is it better if one person does it for consistency? I'm willing to have a go, although I've not done much assessment before so I suggest you check a sample of mine to begin with to check I'm not going too far wrong. Eve 13:31, 5 May 2007 (UTC)Reply
Sure, feel free to do assessments, it's a huge task and we need more helping hands. I may be getting carpal tunnel syndrome from assessing 1000+ articles the past week. I just wanted to try to get most of the articles assessed this week while I had lots of free time, since real life concerns may intrude in a few days. User:Avenue and User:Black Tusk are already helping out in several areas. There is no need to worry about making minor errors of +/- 1 category, I may be making some too, and in any case they are easily corrected later if necessary. I'd be happy to check any that you wish.
So go ahead and assess any articles in areas you're familiar with, or if you want a random selection you could start from the back of Category:WikiProject Volcanoes articles and work in reverse alphabetical order. I started with "A" and have made it to "Mo" now, and will continue working forward as time permits. --Seattle Skier (talk) 00:27, 6 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Assessments question

edit

I looked first, rather than change it, but do you really want to have an assessment scale for WikiProject Volcanoes that assesses plate tectonics as "High" rather than "Top" importance? It's a bit strange, from a volcanologist's viewpoint.. --Blechnic (talk) 04:39, 17 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

Assessment request section missing

edit

Under "What if I don't agree with a rating?," the FAQ says, "You can list it in the section for assessment requests below, and someone will take a look at it." However, there doesn't appear to be an assessment request section at all. Am I missing something? Thanks. Brycehughes (talk) 00:16, 31 May 2013 (UTC)Reply
