Assessment

Shouldn't the project banner have assessment enabled? I can take a crack at it if nobody feels technically up to it. Richard001 (talk) 02:57, 13 January 2008 (UTC)

If the project is going to wake up, then yes, that would be a good start. Are you going to try to revive this project? If so, please consider weighing in on the current MFD for the Blogging Project, which has been suggested to be absorbed into this group, or to have this project and that one absorbed into Computing as a task force. AnmaFinotera (talk) 05:09, 13 January 2008 (UTC)
Well, no, this isn't my area really (I just use the banner sometimes, and it's annoying I can't do assessments). A pity it is inactive - you'd think there would be enough interested people out there to make an active project. Richard001 (talk) 21:23, 5 February 2008 (UTC)

New task force per MfD decision

Per Wikipedia:Miscellany_for_deletion/Wikipedia:WikiProject_Early_Web_History, I have moved Wikipedia:WikiProject Early Web History to Wikipedia:WikiProject_Websites/Early_web_history_task_force, together with all it's subpages (or they should all be there soon anyway. Thanks.--Doug.(talk contribs) 22:20, 5 March 2008 (UTC)

The MfD did realize this project is inactive...right? :P Maybe this will spur some life in though AnmaFinotera (talk) 22:51, 5 March 2008 (UTC)

Request for help: Whedonesque.com

I could use more sets of eyes on whedonesque.com. I would like to get it to GA status despite the anti-blog perspective some editors seem to have. Can anyone else lend a hand? Jclemens (talk) 04:00, 13 May 2008 (UTC)

Revival

Is there any interest in reviving this project at all? I think it could be very useful, as some guiding hands in the writing and formatting of website articles is very much needed. Right now, there isn't much consistency amongst them, resulting in them being all over the place. AnmaFinotera (talk) 15:32, 13 May 2008 (UTC)

icasualties hacked?

I visit icasualties.org frequently to gain information about the ongoing violence in Iraq. The website is also useful in that it posts articles from all over the world covering the war. I've notice the past couple of months that the website is down a lot. I know it was hacked once and they had to rebuild it. I wonder who would be giving this site so much trouble, and why? Any suggestions? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.120.48.34 (talk) 19:57, 24 June 2008 (UTC)

Important Proposal

Currently this project altough very important , is INACTIVE. I propose to make this project more active by making this as a task force of WP:COMPUTING. The pages will remain the same...It will use the common {{WikiProject Computing}} banner for the pages that falls in the scope of this project. The banner will be enabled with this project parameters with also WP 1.0 assessment parameters. Hence the project will get seperate stats for this project / workgroup - both quality scale and importance. Thoughts ??-- TinuCherian (Wanna Talk?) - 05:16, 25 June 2008 (UTC)

I agree. It was something I think I suggested at Computing awhile back, but never got any answer on. -- AnmaFinotera (talk · contribs) 06:30, 25 June 2008 (UTC)
Anything that will let me make assessments sounds good. Richard001 (talk) 09:17, 25 June 2008 (UTC)
Actually that has already been taken care of, but whatever, it sounds like a good idea given the inactivity. Richard001 (talk) 09:19, 25 June 2008 (UTC)
I had left a personal note on the talk pages of the members...Let me hope to hear from them too -- TinuCherian (Wanna Talk?) - 09:42, 25 June 2008 (UTC)

I'm not sure whether it will really help making it more active or not, but it seems in line with collapsing smaller Wikiprojects into task forces under umbrella Wikiprojects. I don't see any reason why this shouldn't happen. Jclemens (talk) 16:29, 25 June 2008 (UTC)

It has been fairly agreed upon here that this project(WP Websites) will become a taskforce of WP:COMPUTING , and we create WP 1.0 assessment categories for the workgroup, tagg the relavent articles with {{WikiProject Computing}} with the workgroup parameters . I am taking this consensus to WP:COMPUTING for further discussion and approval -- TinuCherian (Wanna Talk?) - 05:15, 27 June 2008 (UTC)

I was kind of inactive for a while, sorry guys ,,, but yeh - good idea!! —Preceding unsigned comment added by RedXII (talkcontribs) 16:35, 28 October 2008 (UTC)

Since there are still 200-odd articles using {{WikiProject Websites}}, I updated it to use the meta assessment template. We now have auto-categorization of these articles. This gives a far clearer view of where the project is. Unfortunately, over half of them are unassessed at this time. GreenReaper (talk) 09:04, 7 December 2008 (UTC)

A discussion

An important discussion on " Should WikiProjects get prior approval of other WikiProjects (Descendant or Related or any ) to tag articles that overlaps their scope ? " is open here . Boolean operators

I'm good at starting articles, but not at expanding and creating them very professional. I'd like help on this particular topic. I didn't know where else to go. I figured it would receive faster attention posting it in the discussion of a project page than sitting there. Colonel Marksman (talk) 07:30, 22 September 2008 (UTC)

Wikipedia 0.7 articles have been selected for Websites

Wikipedia 0.7 is a collection of English Wikipedia articles due to be released on DVD, and available for free download, later this year. The Wikipedia:Version 1.0 Editorial Team has made an automated selection of articles for Version 0.7.

We would like to ask you to review the articles selected from this project. These were chosen from the articles with this project's talk page tag, based on the rated importance and quality. If there are any specific articles that should be removed, please let us know at Wikipedia talk:Version 0.7. You can also nominate additional articles for release, following the procedure at Wikipedia:Release Version Nominations.

A list of selected articles with cleanup tags, sorted by project, is available. The list is automatically updated each hour when it is loaded. Please try to fix any urgent problems in the selected articles. A team of copyeditors has agreed to help with copyediting requests, although you should try to fix simple issues on your own if possible.

We would also appreciate your help in identifying the version of each article that you think we should use, to help avoid vandalism or POV issues. These versions can be recorded at this project's subpage of User:SelectionBot/0.7. We are planning to release the selection before December 2008, so we ask you to select the revisions before October 20. At that time, we will use an automatic process to identify which version of each article to release, if no version has been manually selected. Thanks! Is this podcast notable enough to be written up?

I've gone through one guideline after another and I'm hardly any closer to determining if SpaceVidcast is notable enough to have a Wikipedia article written about it. It has had guests like John D. Carmack, Ken Davidian (Program Manager, NASA Centennial Challenges), William Pomerantz (Director, X-Prize Space Projects), Blair Allen (NASA Edge co-host), teams competing for both the Google Lunar X-Prize or the Northrop Grumman Lunar Lander Challenge X-Prize take part in the web-cast as guests. A local TV program called Twin Cities Live did a segment about SpaceVidcast where it interviewed the hosts. The Star Tribune did an article about SpaceVidcast as well. The hosts were also guests on Flak Radio. I will be grateful for any help you can offer. Thank you.U5K0 (talk) 19:41, 27 October 2008 (UTC)

The Star Tribune article is great. Ideally, you should have a second independent, reliable source, but I'd feel confident anchoring an article with that. Jclemens (talk) 23:03, 27 October 2008 (UTC)

Read out articles

You know these articles that people read out and record, should we have a small group of users that read out website articles? I'm willing to be one of them ... ♦ { Crimson } ♦ TalkContributions 16:38, 28 October 2008 (UTC)
