Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Women's Classical Committee/Aims

The advice on the project page ("If you do create or make edits to a page, please add the category 'Articles created or improved during Women's Classical Committee Wikipedia events' to the page. You can do this by copying and pasting Category:Articles created or improved during Women's Classical Committee Wikipedia events into the category section at the bottom of each page. This allows us to monitor progress of the initiative.") is desired and we do not want it deleted. Adding categories is important for us to be able to monitor the progress of the initiative. Thank you for respecting this. Srsval (talk) 20:37, 17 June 2018 (UTC)
- @Srsval: the problem with this is that, wikipedia-wide, projects are barred from using categories on article pages for tracking purposes - see WP:PROJCATS. And, indeed, the category itself has by now been deleted - see Problem with Category:Articles created or improved during Women's Classical Committee Wikipedia events. Projects should instead track via talk pages, which is what the {{Women's Classical Committee}} now does. Happy to discuss further, but I anticipate you will want to remove the current poor advice. --Tagishsimon (talk) 22:32, 17 June 2018 (UTC)
- @Tagishsimon: Ok thanks for this information, I'll look into it. Srsval (talk) 10:34, 18 June 2018 (UTC)
