Working on Wikipedia

edit

Hello, everyone! Following up on this plea placed at Talk:Chez Doris after I'd substantially edited down the contents of Chez Doris, I wanted to clarify for all that when you're working on Wikipedia, your purpose should be to assist in building this encyclopedia, not to use it as a platform for composing presentations undisturbed. There is no ownership of articles. Your contributions, like all contributions here, will be held to Wikipedia's guidelines and will likely be edited by folks, such as myself, who patrol new articles to help bring them into compliance. All material here is a collaborative effort. If the nature of your assignment is to gain experience in working on Wikipedia—the collaborative nature of it, in addition to acquiring an awareness of how to create good and compliant articles, is a big part of it!

If you see that other editors have altered your contributions, please check any explanation they give in their edit summaries. If you are unclear as to the reasons for their edits, ask them on the article's talk page or on their own user talk page.

Happy editing. Let me know if you have any questions. Largoplazo (talk) 18:18, 4 December 2018 (UTC)Reply
