Google has managed to cache more than a hundred of these forked pages. [1] I'm not sure how long they'll stay up, though. – Minh Nguyễn (talk, contribs, blog) 17:32, 1 November 2005 (UTC)Reply

Google's translated version of WikiCN's front page [2] starts off with the title "Dimension guest China, based on WiKi (dimension guest) technical encyclopedia." To an English speaker, this reads like pure nonsense; however, I can tell you that this would more accurately translate to "Wiki China, based on Wikipedia," based on the Vietnamese translation of this title.

The page later seems to say:

Wiki China, from the Dopai.com, Bokee.com, and Chinalabs.com communities to you. On October 20th, 2005, we changed our name to Wiki China.
This wiki came to the attention of "the Ministry of Education, Philosophy, and Social Sciences in 2003 when it researched an important topic: blogging technology and the way it affects research in the media and society."

I used a tool [3] to transliterate the Chinese characters into old Sino-Vietnamese words, and based my translation off of that transliteration and Google's translation. I'm not an expert at this, but my translation sure makes more sense than Google's translation alone.

According to zh:Wikipedia:狀況回報, there's apparently a mirror of the Chinese Wikipedia [4] available that should be accessible to Chinese users. – Minh Nguyễn (talk, contribs, blog) 21:30, 5 November 2005 (UTC)Reply
