Photo request: gravestone of Jeremiah Hamilton in Green-Wood Cemetery

The New York Times recently had an article on Jeremiah G. Hamilton, "the only black millionaire in New York" around the time of the Civil War and a figure ignored by modern American historians despite his prominence in newspapers of the day (see "Gotham’s Only Black Millionaire"). It would be fantastic if Hamilton's Wikipedia article had a photograph of his gravestone. The NYTimes article says "In May 1875, Hamilton was buried in his family lot in Brooklyn’s Green-Wood Cemetery, next to two of his daughters."

Fortunately enough, the Green-Wood Cemetery has a burial search feature: http://www.green-wood.com/burial_results/. Entering 'Last name': 'Hamilton'; 'Starting Year': '1875', 'Ending Year': '1875' returns a Jeremiah G. Hamilton with a burial date of May 22, 1875 interred at lot 14972, section 158. The map of Green-Wood Cemetery at http://www.green-wood.com/map-of-green-wood-cemetery/ shows section 158 located on the southwest side of the intersection of the cemetery's Sassafras Avenue and Vine Avenue. Google Maps locates section 158 within about 200 feet of 40.649648, -73.985242 (more helpful: https://maps.google.com/maps?q=40.649648,-73.985242&hl=en&ll=40.652285,-73.984981&spn=0.016149,0.042272&num=1&t=m&z=15).

Would someone please photograph Jeremiah G. Hamilton's gravestone as part of Wikipedia Takes Brooklyn? If someone's up for that, then it should be possible to postpone Hamilton's DYK until the photo is on Commons. I'll also photograph anything you'd like within 100 miles of Washington, DC. I'm not participating in Wikipedia Takes Brooklyn but having been there a few times, Green-Wood Cemetery is not only out of the way but a very large place. Maybe WM-NYC can organize a structured visit in the future (perhaps in conjunction with a local genealogical society) specifically to capture pictures. -- kosboot (talk) 00:33, 1 September 2013 (UTC)

Is Green-Wood Cemetery any more out of the way than other points of interest in Brooklyn? It's between Park Slope, Windsor Terrace, Borough Park, Kensington, and Sunset Park. Presumably the photo hunt will canvas many of those areas. Its size seems pretty comparable to other areas of interest. That the cemetery is so well-mapped and dense with photographic subjects of interest to Wikipedia seem to make it an ideal target area for this event. Emw (talk) 17:00, 1 September 2013 (UTC)
