Club career

edit

Van der Steen started his professional career with Eerste Divisie club Helmond Sport, where he was the starting goalkeeper from 2012 to 2016.[2]

In 2016, he joined Eredivisie side Heerenveen.[2] In the summer of 2018, he chose not to extend his contract with the club as he struggled to secure the position of their first-choice goalkeeper.[3]

On 19 June 2023, Van der Steen agreed to return to Helmond Sport on a two-year deal.[4]
