Wykeham is a hamlet in North Yorkshire, England. It is situated just off the A169 road and is 1.75 miles (2.82 km) north-east of Malton.[1][2][3] Wykeham is mentioned in the Domesday Book as wicum, and the name of the hamlet derives from Old English and means [at] the dwellings.[4][5]

Historically part of the Hundred of Maneshou, later the wapentake of Rydale, it is now part of the civil parish of Malton, and also part of the Thirsk and Malton Constituency.[4][6] In 1301, the population of Wykeham and Howe was listed as being twelve, in the 2011 census, the population was included in that of Malton civil parish.[7][8]
