Wynk Music was an Indian music streaming service and a digital distributor in 14 languages. Launched on 1st September 2014 by Airtel Digital Limited, and the digital wing of Bharti Airtel Limited. It was available in India, Sri Lanka, and 15 African countries. It had a program that helped independent artists launch their music. It provided mentorship, distribution support, and the ability to earn from every stream.[1]

In late August 2024, Bharti Airtel decided to partner with Apple to offer Apple Music as their replacement for their current Premium subscription, thus they decided to shut down Wynk Music while all of the staff has relocated to their telecom division.[2] In December 2024, the app was shut down.

History

Wynk Music was launched in 2014 by Bharti Airtel. The app was initially available only to Airtel subscribers, but it was later made available to everyone in 2017.

Wynk Music has quickly become one of the most popular music streaming apps in India. causes for it include its large music library, ad-free experience, affordable pricing, and Airtel's push to it.

Wynk music premium service is bundled with many services of Airtel worldwide and other subscription-based web-streaming players in India.[3]

Its partnership with Dolby Laboratories offers users Dolby Atmos technology.[4][5] It offers the immersive audio experience of Dolby Atmos to its users without any additional charges was their exciting offer.
