Yulia Trofimova (Russian: Юлия Трофимова; born 1978) is a Russian director, screenwriter and film producer. She is best known as the creator of the film The Land of Sasha which was included in the Generation program of the 72nd Berlin Film Festival,[1][2] as well as the television series I "Loved" My Husband [ru] (starring Svetlana Khodchenkova).[3][4]

Biograрhy

Yulia born in 1978 in Kaluga.

She studied at the Faculty of Economics of Moscow State University.[5] She studied directing and screenwriting at the New York Film Academy (Los Angeles branch), general directing at the Moscow School of New Cinema (artistic director of the course by Dmitry Mamulia) and screenwriting at the League of Cinema school.

She made her directorial debut in 2017 with the short drama In the Game with Vladimir Khatskevich in the title role. In collaboration with American filmmakers, she shot the 11-minute film Commentator (2019), which successfully performed at a number of film festivals.[6]
