Crystal Palace won the tournament for the first time, defeating in the final defending champions PSV Eindhoven, who had beaten them in the previous tournament's final.
Format
editThe competition features twenty-four teams: twelve from English league system and twelve invitees from other European countries. The teams are split into three groups of eight. The group winners, runners-up and two best third-placed teams, will progress into the knockout phase of the tournament.[1]
All matches will be played in England.[2]
