History

edit

Cantabil Retail India Limited began its operations in 1989 as a private limited company named Kapish Sales Pvt. Ltd., initially focusing on distributing zippers and buttons.[7] The company shifted to apparel retailing in 2000, launching its first store in Rajouri Garden, New Delhi.[8] The success of this store led to a significant expansion into other segments of clothing, including women's and children's wear.[9][10]

Operations

edit

Cantabil's manufacturing facility is located in Bahadurgarh, Haryana, and spans 1.5 lakh sq. ft.[11] The facility has an annual production capacity of 1.5 million garments.[12] The company follows an integrated business model that includes designing, manufacturing, and retailing.[13] This model allows for greater control over quality and cost management.[14]

Financial Information

edit

Cantabil is a publicly traded company, listed on the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) and the National Stock Exchange (NSE) under the ticker symbol CANTABIL.[15] For the financial year ending March 2024, Cantabil reported a revenue of ₹6.16 billion, reflecting an 11.52% growth compared to the previous year.[16] Analysts have projected growth in demand in the second half of 2024, driven by a stronger retail presence and improved consumer spending.[17][18][19]

Expansion

edit

Cantabil is focusing on expanding its retail network, especially in Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities across India.[20][21] The company has set a target for a 15% volume growth in the fiscal year 2025.[22][23] Additionally, it has invested in expanding its manufacturing capabilities and improving supply chain management to meet rising demand.[24][25][26]
