Opposed speedy move request
edit- Category:CS1 to Category:Citation Style 1 – C2D: Per Help:Citation Style 1. Gonnym (talk) 18:50, 23 October 2020 (UTC)
- Really? Sigh. This category has been at its current name since it was created six years ago; most of its subcats are prefixed with this category's name. Those subcats that don't use this category's name are already in the works to be renamed after the next update to the cs1|2 module suite.

- There are other sub-categories which aren't error categories and which aren't being renamed (Category:Citation Style 1 templates, which has been at that name for 8 years, before this category was created.). --Gonnym (talk) 19:56, 23 October 2020 (UTC)
- Just that one – all of the rest will get renamed; see Module:Citation/CS1/doc/Category list. Category:Citation Style 1 templates was added to Category:CS1 by another editor at this edit.

- I'm not sure what to take from that comment. It's been there 4 years and you've haven't removed it from there. Also that isn't the only category: Category:Citation Style 1 specific-source templates, Category:Citation Style 1 templates using German translations and Category:Citation Style 1 templates using non-standard parameters. --Gonnym (talk) 22:20, 23 October 2020 (UTC)
- I do not know why Editor Pigsonthewing added it to Category:Citation Style 1 templates to Category:CS1 so pinged. I have not removed it because I am indifferent to its presence there. I really only care about the error/maint/prop cats which I use regularly. Category:Citation Style 1 templates can stay or go; or it can be removed as a category but be retained as a simple wiki-link in the text section of Category:CS1.

- Gosh, why would anyone put a subcategory CS1-something in the top level CS1 category? Beats me. Andy Mabbett (Pigsonthewing); Talk to Andy; Andy's edits 13:46, 24 October 2020 (UTC)
- I have removed Category:Citation Style 1 templates from Category:CS1 but linked to it from Category:CS1 by way of a

- Oppose speedy. This will cause several consistency issues with similarly named categories. Headbomb {t · c · p · b} 20:14, 23 October 2020 (UTC)
- We already have a consistency issue. Some are at "Citation Style 1" names and some are at "CS1" names (to wit, all the maint/errors/props are at CS1, then there are the others at Citation Style 1). This probably does need a not-CFDS discussion to resolve. I am not entirely sure it should be a CFD discussion or if we should sort out what we want at e.g. Help talk:CS1 first. I would personally not be a fan of extending the error/maint/prop names since these can stack up in the batch of hidden categories when there are many categories on the page. --Izno (talk) 22:39, 23 October 2020 (UTC)
- You mean Help talk:Citation Style 1 :) --Gonnym (talk) 22:41, 23 October 2020 (UTC)
- It's also worth noting that the above category is not a tracking category and does not appear on any pages but only on categories. It's the top level, which we (as in general en.wiki community) always spell out full name. Any concerns for pages are irrelevent here as are concerns over consistency as that is anyways an issue currently. --Gonnym (talk) 22:45, 23 October 2020 (UTC)
