Significant parts of the Indonesian archipelago have nothing whatsoever to do with the major pacific or any subsidiary oceans related - and as such it is a misnomer to consider Indonesia to be related to either the Indian or Pacfic oceans - it is a physiographic and geographic nonsense to consider all internal waters of the archipelago as being directly related to or as a significant part of the pacific. Eastern Indonesian islands - some of them are not necessarily in the pacific region either - so it should be case by case rather than a consideration of all the islands of indonesia to be related to the pacific - geologically, oceanographically, tectonically, or any other form of scientific knowledge. However as always - if someone has a ref that 'proves' beyond all doubt that Indonesia is indeed a part of the Pacific ocean I'd be prepared to read the ref but not necessarily revert my revert SatuSuro05:04, 8 August 2008 (UTC)Reply
