The 2025 Mobile mayoral election will be held on August 26, 2025, to elect the mayor of Mobile, Alabama. Incumbent mayor Sandy Stimpson is not running for re-election.^[1]

Background

Sandy Stimpson was first elected mayor in 2013, defeating incumbent mayor and current state representative Sam Jones.^[2] Stimpson was reelected in 2017^[3] and 2021^[4]. On September 25, 2024, Mobile mayor Sandy Stimpson publicly announced he would not seek reelection to a fourth term.^[1] Following Stimpson's announcement, speculation began on who would seek the seat. This will be the first time in 20 years where no incumbent is running for mayor of Mobile.^[5]
