editFailatu attended the Business Senior High School (BISCO) in the Northern Region of Ghana, Tamale. She then furthered her education at the University for Development Studies (UDS) where she studied Integrated Community Development (ICD)[1].

editShe is the founder of Mickey’s Inn, a continental restaurant located in the central part of Tamale.
Abdul Razaq Failatu is a famous person in Ghana, celebrated not only for her culinary arts but also for her impassionate advocacy on women's rights and worked up stand against child trafficking.[2]
Aside cooking, Failatu is an Afro-pop musician and released 'Piibu Piibu' in 2016.[3]

Guinness World Record Attempt
editOn January 1st 2024, Abdul Razak Failatu attempted to break the Guinness world record for the longest cooking marathon (cookathon) for five days. Failatu aimed to surpass the current record of 119 hours and 57 minutes[5][6].
After 10 days of non-stop cooking, Abdul Razak Failatu cooked for 227 hours[7][2]. She cooked a total of 154 dishes in a space of 227 hours[8]
Abdul-Razak gave an emotional salute at the end of the cook-a-thon on Wednesday in Tamale, clad in the national flag. She expressed her dedication to Ghana by describing it as a "national assignment." She walked out of the hotel kitchen to cheers from the crowd. For official validation, Abdul-Razak's team intends to submit evidence to Guinness World Records.[9]
After she intended to beat the official 119-hour record set by Alan Fisher, her attempt was unsuccessful because she violated rules governing her attempt[10]
