Amanda Edirisinghe (born 6 September 1987) is a Srilankan professional Television Presenter who worked predominantly in the television industry. She made her presenting debut in 2007 which she gained popularity from.

Early life and Background

Amanda Edirisinghe was born on 6 September 1987 in kandy city. She is the grandniece of legendary actress Chitra Wakishta and Lloyd wakishta who was a part of one of the south Asias record breaking teledrama series Kopi Kade.

Amanda studied at Hillwood College kandy and her tertiary academic excellence graduated with her bachelors degree in Social sciences with a second class upper division from the Open University Srilanka one of the top ten universities in Srilanka.

Television Debut

She made her Television debut as a TV presenter in 2007 with Rasata Rasak tv programme with Jaya Sri brothers on Sirasa TV channel. Furher then she presented The colombo fashion show TV programme on TV Derana channel.

Amanda is the face for more than twenty five Tv and print commercials and brand endorsements such as Sunsilk shampoo,Fadna shape up tea,Crisbro cicken,SLT MobitelRitzbury chocolate,Srilankan Airlines,Astra margarine,formula plus insuarance, HSBC,SLT Mobitel broaband net,Signal toothpaste,Prima kottumee noodles,Singer srilanka,and current face of brand Siddhalepa Divya soap and shampoo product which is sold internationally in [[Indias largest B2B maret place IndiaMART.

Pageantry

At the age of nineteen years Amanda won 4th runner up title at Miss Srilanka Universe 2007 beauty pageant. She also won Miss Photogenic title award and Miss Best in evening Gown title award from the same pageant . She had won three main titles from a single pageant respectively.

Acting Career

Amanda made her acting debut with on director Senaka wijesinghe's teledrama series digu sewanali where she played a kidnapped on screen daughters role to a veteran female actress. She also acted in Swarnawahini ITI Mal teledrama series as Roshel alongside legendary actor Tissa Wijesurendra.

Amanda made her guest appearance in a music video with bachi susan for his famous hit song Channa Kinnaravi where she gained immense popularity for her notable performance in the song.

She walked the ramp for many leading fashion designers in srilanka during the intial stage if her career.

International Work

At the age of twenty three years Amanda crossed the international boarders to expand her career and lived in india due to professional obligations and she appeared in a Tv commercial which was directed by Bollywood film director Raj Kaushal for the brand Hero Honda one of the main brand sponsors for the Indian ICC cricket team. Due to her Hindi language skills she was offered a Bollywood movie alongside veteran Bollywood actors in India. And also done many interviews for media channels in India.

Philanthropy

Amanda actively involved in volunteer work and is a humanitarian who has a holistic approach towards the betterment of the society . Her Advocacy is to eradicate any sort of abuse and harassment faced by individuals in the society.

She is the Founder of NO Association a non profit organization which helps the abandoned and neglected people who are helpless victims in the society.
