Boris Evgenievich Ekhtin (Russian: Борис Евгеньевич Эхтин, was born 5 June 1983) - russian writer, poet, literary critic. Member of the Writers' Union of North America.[1]. Head of the Tomsk regional branch of the Union of Writers of North America [2]. CEO and Editor-in-chief of the online poetry magazine Terantella [3]. Organizer of the Rimma Kazakova International Literary Competition [4] [5].
Boris Ekhtin was born in Tomsk, USSR. He studied at the Tomsk Music College named after E.V.Denisov. From a young age, he was engaged in mini-football and playing the piano. Father is a football coach. Mother is a mathematics teacher. Grandmother is from Krakow. His paternal grandfather, a native of St. Petersburg, was for some time an assistant to Felix Edmundovich Dzerzhinsky, however, during the Great Patriotic War, he was evacuated from St. Petersburg to the city of Tomsk, where he was appointed director of the city hall [6]. In 1997, Boris Ekhtin was recognized as the best football player of the city of Tomsk in mini-football. In 2009, he wrote a book called "The Spirit of Elleotte" - artistic philosophy, mysticism. From 2010 to 2012, he was actively engaged in Thai boxing, including under the guidance of Nikolai Glavinsky. Since 2014, he has been studying sound engineering, and continues to master it to this day. He became interested in poetry from his youth, but began publishing only in the autumn of 2023 [7]. The works of Boris Ekhtin can be found - Poems.ru
Speaking about his preferences in poetry, Ekhtin says the following:
At one time, I got acquainted with the works of many poets in order to understand the reasons for their frenzied popularity at different times. And although there are many poets who deserve respect, however, the standard for me will always remain: Johann Wolfgang von Goethe, William Shakespeare, Dante Alighieri and A.S. Pushkin..[8].
Boris Ekhtin is a supporter of building a new monarchy in modern Russia, preferring it to hypocritical democracy. In 2022, he began work on a book - “The concept of the revival of the absolute monarchy in modern Russia” – which, according to the author, should be published in 2026.
Quote:
Democracy in modern Russia, in relation to the political relationship between the government and the people, has an obvious sign of hypocrisy, since it gives the Russian people a false idea that something depends on them. And although many steps taken by the supreme power have had a very positive effect on establishing decent relations with the people, however, realizing that in fact, there is no real political democracy, the people every time discover the fact that the government, declaring democratic values, prefers to use the tools of autocracy very actively. As a result, a flawed and deceitful democracy is formed, which is based on principles directly opposite to it. As for the current democracy, as a form of existence of Russian people and its reflection in everyday life, then there are many problems. After all, the people everywhere use democracy and form in Russian society a Western model of promiscuity and frivolity in the social sphere, which in turn negatively affects not only the quality of development of Russian society as a whole, but also significantly reduces the potential of Russian culture and art. In my opinion, the return of the monarchy, which has always been organic for Russia, but in a more perfect form than in previous times, can contribute to the development of more honest and trusting relations between the supreme power and the Russian people, and is likely to be the most effective solution in building a new, great Russian Empire[9]
Many well-known Russian writers and poets -[10], [11], [12], [13], [14], [15], [16], speak in support of Boris Ekhtin's work as the editor-in-chief of TARANTELLA magazine. Including Sergey Fedorovich Karatov [17]

It seems to me that the creation of the online poetry magazine TERANTELLA is very significant today! He protects readers from the growing natives. Once upon a time, Zemstvos arose in Russia and did a lot of good things for society. In particular, they dealt with the problem of youth education. Schools were opened with the funds raised, teachers were trained. And now there are latent natives in the country, focused on the decomposition of our youth. One rap is worth a lot. I'm not talking about different tattoos and piercings. And the fact that young people do not read much or do not read books at all is out of the question. I like the life position of the creator of TERANTELLA, Boris Ekhtin[18] I sincerely wish him to gather under his wing a lot of his supporters among bright creative personalities, and most importantly, that TERANTELLA magazine has a lot of readers, especially from among young people![19]
Russian poet Galina Borisovna Talanova:[20]
Quote:
A new magazine with the sonorous name "TERANTELLA" has appeared. The editor—in-chief of the magazine is the writer Boris Ekhtin. The editorial board includes the poet and well-known radio and television presenter Dmitry Vodennikov. The magazine positions itself as an elite online publication, which publishes primarily famous poets of our time, awarded literary prizes and diplomas. But what kind of mysterious name was given to the magazine? At first I thought it was such an Italian dance, since the creator of the site Boris Ekhtin is a musician by education, but why is the letter "e" in its name instead of "a"? There are many legends associated with the history of tarantella. Since the XV century, for two centuries, tarantella has been considered the only cure for "tarantism" — insanity caused, as it was believed, by the bite of a tarantula spider (the names come from the southern Italian city of Taranto). In those years, tarantella was the only effective method of treating tarantism, a specific mental disorder, one of the forms of hysteria. It was accompanied by hallucinations, delusions, convulsions, and could often end in the death of the patient. The essence of this "medical procedure" was to force a patient with tarantism to dance a special dance, characterized by a fast pace and a clear rhythm. In this regard, special orchestras of healers-musicians with guitars, flutes, tambourines, castanets traveled around Italy, to the playing of which patients with tarantism danced. The music of the tarantella was usually improvised; it is characterized by a long deployment of the melody with large extensions and cadence additions. The tarantella was often based on a single motif or rhythmic figure, the repeated repetition of which had a fascinating, "hypnotic" effect on listeners and dancers. The self-forgetful dance could last for several hours. I thought there was something in such a name: after all, good poetry also fascinates and heals, saves us from pain, helps us survive the death of loved ones, unhappy love and come to terms with the inevitable passage of time and departure, will save us from the madness of vanity. But it turned out that "Terantella" is "not a dance, it's just a play on words, something similar to a dance, but not a dance, but a literary magazine," as Boris Ekhtin said. Who among the writers has not cherished the secret thought that he deserves more and writes better than the winners of the biggest prizes? And they are little or no known, since there are much fewer sites for publications than there are writers, and it is not at all easy to get through to the reader. Poet and novelist Elena Somova joined the creation of the magazine as a member of the expert council. In any case, the creation of a new online literary publication is welcome… We wish it to be in demand and become a real launching pad for authors preparing for the Olympic jump to the reader. Long and wise years of life! And thanks to its creators![21]
