Chateau Chizay Vineyards

edit

The company owns 272 hectares of vineyards in the foothills of the Carpathians, on slopes mainly of volcanic origin.[12] The vineyards were planted in 2006. The company cultivates European white and red grape varieties, including rare and exclusive ones for Ukraine. The vineyards do not use artificial irrigation, and most of the work is done manually.

Chateau Chizay Wines

edit

Chateau Chizay produces wines from its own harvest. The product range includes premium collections such as Carpathian Sekt, which became the first mono-varietal sparkling wine from Chersegi[12] and Pink Traminer in Ukraine. In 2023, Furmint Orange and Furmint Late Harvest were released, becoming ambassadors of Ukrainian winemaking on the international stage.

Social Activity

edit

Chateau Chizay cooperates with the Uzhhorod National University, particularly with the Department of Tourism.[13], with the Association of Tourist Guides of Transcarpathia, and other specialized institutions and organizations, as well as with local product manufacturers. It is the first company in Ukraine to sign the memorandum of the ecological initiative The Porto Protocol, which unites environmentally conscious wineries worldwide[14]. It is also the initiator of the creation of the Association of Grape Growers and Winemakers of Transcarpathia and obtaining the protected geographical indication "Wines of Transcarpathia" for quality wines of the region [1]

The company collaborates with Ukrainian and international producers to create new quality products (such as coffee fermented in barrels, providing barrels for aging whisky in Scotland, etc.) and expands the range of activities.
